Disciples and Man Of Steel

Today I have some new music for you and hopefully, it will be some good stuff for you guys! This first song is a really smooth and chill remix of a song by OneRepublic. As it is, Ryan Tedder has a phenomenal voice that can pull off so many different sounds and genres. What I love about this is that he unintentionally came up with a song that had the right vibe and sound to it that we were able to get this remix from Disciples. This song has that really chill sound from house music and it almost doesn't even sound like house. It seems to laid back for that! However, I think this remix is really sick. It maintains the elements of OneRepublic song like the vocals, but the melodies in this song have been so perfectly done so that a whole new sound is created. I understand, this is a remix and of course it is a new sound. But Disciples makes this song completely different and the song itself has a totally different melody. How wicked is that?! A lot of times when people do remixes, the ...

VGo and House of Ill Repute

Well, it has been quite a trying week! We've seen a lot happen, and it has been nothing but a wild ride. However, I am so happy to be back with music for you all because quite frankly, sharing music is one of the things that keeps me sane! A part of why this week was extremely crazy for me, is because of dance competition that my university hosted. Now this isn't your typical dance competition. This was a Bollywood Fusion choreography competition. Not many people are extremely familiar with the Bollywood scene, let alone the fusion side, however, the Bollywood dance circuit has grown so large, and because of that we now host nationally acclaimed competitions! It was crazy and stressful and tiring, but absolutely worth it! We got to see teams from all over the country come perform to some the sickest dance mixes out there. The choreography isn't the only thing that is a fusion of styles. These mixes have been meticulously created to give us something that is not only hyped a...
Well folks, this is the night that will make or break The United States of America. Election night is in full swing and it isn't looking too hot....Hate to say there won't be any music today as I am trying to get myself ready for the possible doom that may befall this country...stay tuned for more tomorrow!

Robert DeLong and Kingsman: The Secret Service

Image
Today I have some music that takes us back to the world of alternative rock. I cannot believe it has taken me this long to post some music from that side of the musical spectrum. I think I post in genre waves, periods of time when I focus on a specific sound before switching to something different. But anyway, this song is by an artist whom I have mad respect for. Robert DeLong is one of the most talented artists in the business. Not only is he a singer, but he is also and instrumentalist and producer. And did I mention, he is also a one-man show? That is right. Every sound, every lyric, every shake of the tambourine, it is all him. Robert DeLong writes, composes, performs, and produces all of his music. I have to say, I have yet to hear an artist who has gone to the same lengths to put their music out there. Nowadays I suppose it is easier to physically create music which is why I am more impressed with Robert DeLong's capabilities. One thing that I was completely ...

The Spacies and X Men: Days of Future Past

Today I have some music for you by the artist known as The Spacies. This song is one of the most soul blossoming and wonderful songs I have heard in a long time. This song legitimately made my heart feel so full and free like an eagle. This song makes my soul and heart soar above everything else. The Spacies did an absolutely magical and uplifting job with the production of this song, being so musically moving that you can taste that sense of freedom. You can get lost in the ecstasy of this song, a place that is one of the greatest places to be let go of everything. This song has the whole package: a wonderfully composed song, inspiring and beautiful lyrics, and an energy that never dies. The Spacies is kind of like a reminder of everything that made the world of EDM and house feel like home. This song is one that is like bright fireworks on a dark night. This song is like the ecstasy of yelling with joy as you cruise down the highway with the windows open. This...

Tame Impala & Miguel and Doctor Strange

Image
Today I have music for you that is a remix of a song by the artist Miguel. However, this song was remixed by the alternative band Tame Impala. This is a band that is easily remixed, a band that can be stripped of its big drums, killer bass lines, and aloof vocals. And Tame Impala has had their songs remixed by a few R&B artists like Rihanna! However, with this song, Tame Impala is able to turn the tables and cover an R&B song. And to cover a song by the sutlry and smokey Miguel? Quite a risky and interesting move to make. However, I think Tame Impala really pulled this off. Miguel's music is rich and full of guitar and bass lines. He is an artist that has been warming towards more rock elements, which makes him such a fantastic choice for Tame Impala to cover! What is cool about this remix is that Tame Impala legitimately makes it a remix of the original song. The lead singer doesn't make his own vocal rendition of the song, but folds Miguel's crooning and emotive s...

Jaymes Young and Sufjan Stevens

Today I have a song for by the artist known as Jaymes Young. This song is so smooth and chill, and is something that I completely love and enjoy. There are these little nuances in this song that give it personality and substance. For example, one thing that the song uses is the electric guitar. That isn't something you normally hear in a song that has more of an electronic and alternative R&B vibe, but that guitar work adds this really nice R&B flair to it that really fits the song's sound. This song has a nice upbeat kind of sound to it, something that transitions into a little bit of a slower sound. But even with that slower sound, there is a really nice liveliness to the song. This song definitely has a little bit more of a seductive feel to it, which is something that definitely goes with the territory of R&B. That is actually something super great about this song. There is a great balance between being a little bit R&B, a little bit rock, and a l...
