Justice

Continuing with more ACL artists, today I am focusing on one of the electronic acts to hit the stage. What is interesting is that initially, this artist was not supposed to be listed. Due to some complications though, they were slotted and many of us got to experience Justice for the first time. And let me tell you, the show was absolutely mesmerizing.

A little background about the group, Justice is a French electronic duo who has been a strong and powerful underbelly of music. The duo has been nominated for multiple Grammy's and has even won for some of their remixes. Justice has a really great repertoire of sound and production. At times during their performance, I would get some serious Daft Punk vibes. There is something very meticulous about their work and in the intricacies of their music. There are definitely disco and funk electronic vibes, thrown in with a little bit of house as well. But what makes Justice stand out, even more, is that there are lots of influences from indie rock and even heavy metal. One of the production styles they use is slapping basslines and distorted synths. But that allows them to develop a really great dance-rock kind of sound, something which is not heard very often and with a pristine precision which cannot be matched.

Justice has quite a few albums out and it was really hard to pick a single song to showcase today. Among these tracks are instrumentals, lyrical ones, high energy, and a passive chilled out songs. But I decided to go with a more lyrical song, although I guess in terms of lyricism, it is very akin to Daft Punk. This song is one of those that everyone has heard before and recognizes but never really knows where it comes from. This song has been bouncing around everywhere, and for a while now. The chorus is probably the most recognizable part, with the chanting vocals telling us to dance. This song feels like a blend of nostalgic electronic music and an innovative energy.

In all honesty, there are quite a few parts of this track which remind me of Daft Punk and their older sound. The song is rampant with staccato instrumentals and layered funky basslines. All the pieces come together to create a sound that is the perfect blend of live instrumentation and electronic usage. And nothing about the track feels forced either. It has that nice robotic sound, the kind that isn't oo much but still remains within the world of electronic music. This song has a great energy to it and definitely keeps you bobbing your head. There is an infectious vibe to the track, and the chorus is so contagious that you'll find it running through your head or being hummed on your lips. The funky groove of the track keeps the entire song bubbling around!

But again, this is just one of their lyrical tracks. Today's instrumental song has to be one of their's, of course! And this song is one of the ultimate tracks. It is one of their most streamed tracks, and I think it is pretty easy to see why. So I hope you enjoy a taste of Justice today, and please feel free to comment!
