Cherub and Empire of the Sun

Today I have some music by the duo known as Cherub. This is another group that was featured for Austin City Limits this year, and we get to hear from them for both weekends! These guys are pretty interesting because their music is pretty chill and then when you actually pay attention to the lyrics they are kind of funny or pretty intense. Weirdly entertaining, Cherub knows how to put a sexier spin on the music to make it sound like a song that you would dance to with a flow. It is nice to hear a more underground vibe from a duo like this, especially since electronic pop is a growing genre. While they do have that complete synth feel, they don't sound like all the other electronic groups out there. A great mix between actual instruments and synthesizers exists, and it is something that I really appreciate. Alina Baraz & The Galimatias and J. Rabbit

Today marks the start of one of the biggest music festivals in the South. Austin City Limits had its kickoff today, and boy did the lineup make me giddy! There are a lot of good, lesser known artists here for ACL weekend, and I love that. This song is actually by one of the bands showcased tonight, Alina Baraz & the Galimatias. I first heard of them when it was announced they would be going to ACL. I was not sure if I would be a fan of them, especially because my eyes were focused on the fact that George Ezra was here. I was quite impressed when I first heard their music, and this song in particular. This is a group that has so much to offer in terms of having a really cool sound. Alina Baraz and the Galimatias has a sound that they create on their own, one that is very similar to artists like Flume or any other kind of chillstep group.
