Flume and Troye Sivan
Today I have some music for you that is a little bit of a mix of things. To be more specific, more of a remix of things. This song is originally by Sam Smith, and artist who is known for this incredible R&B vocals and higher vocal range. However, this remix is done by Flume, one of the EDM and remixing gods. What I love about Flume's work is that he knows how to make a lot happen without making it seem so. There are so many different things happening in this song but you can't tell. He makes everything seem so flawless. From the initial opener to the first minor bass drop, there are so many different things happening! The song starts out very Flume-like, with the lengthened out melodies and harmonies. But then we get to Sam Smith's vocalization and that has a nice synth undertone to prop up his vocals and somehow accentuate them.
