Chantal Chamberland and Ray Charles

Today I have some throwback music! And when I say throwback, I mean back to the 40's. This song was originally written and sung by the French singer Charles Trenet. Over the years it has been covered and redone and remastered, giving the song a different flavor each time. This version is one of my favorites because it has a contemporary jazz kind of feel, and that is something I really enjoy. This version is sung by Canadian singer Chantal Chamberland. Some of things that are really nice about this version is the way that she sings the song. It is done in a very soft and slightly gravelly voice for a woman. But it gives the song a really nice character, something that is a little bit more suave even. Chantal has this soft and sultry kind of voice, which turns this classic song into more of a smokey bar and rainy nights kind of jazz song.
