Shawn Mendes and Avatar
Today I have music for you by Canadian singer Shawn Mendes. Now some people might have the belief that this kid is going to be like the next Justin Bieber, but I have some reasons that say otherwise. First of all, when you hear this song, the style is pretty different from where Justin Bieber is now. Shawn Mendes has a song that is somewhat intense, but in a very pop way. There is a very nice sense of building energy, especially with the percussion. The percussion coupled with the guitar creates this really cool march sound which I really like. It fits very well with his voice, which is my second voice. For 16 years old, Shawn Mendes has a really rich and deep voice. He has a voice that is a little bit gritty even and I can imagine this voice going along with an alternative or punk band. There is a maturity to his voice that is quite different from a lot of younger artists these days.
