Karen O (Her) and U2 (Mandela)
Happy Oscar Sunday to you all! Yes, the Oscars were held tonight, and I was quite pleased with the winnings. Jared Leto for best supporting actor, Lupita Nyong'o for best supporting actress, Cate Blanchett for best lead actress and Matthew McConaughey for best lead actor. There were great performances, more incredible wins, and my favorite 12 Years A Slave for best picture. But today, I am here to post two of the Oscar nominated songs that most people are unfamiliar with. This first song is from the movie Her and was written sung by Karen O. It is so beautiful and very bluesy which flows along with the mood of the story being told and the manner in which we view the film. The second song is from the movie Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom and was done by the great U2. Both of these songs were performed at the Academy Award Ceremony and both are extremely wonderful.
