Today I have some serious soul and R&B. Jarell Perry has one of the most incredible voices in the world of R&B that I have heard. Sometimes I cannot fathom how completely beautiful this song is and how phenomenal his voice is. Jarell has this passion and power with which he sings, but he still maintains this grace and softness to his voice. Everything about this song is so perfect and well put together. This song is about the pain of love and what love can do to you. The beginning drum beats are akin to a heartbeat but are not actual heartbeat recordings. I thought that was pretty sick because on almost every occasion, there would have been the real sound of a heartbeat. The percussion rendition of the heartbeat adds something wonderful to the song because it brings something a little bit more abstract to the sound.
