VGo and House of Ill Repute

Well, it has been quite a trying week! We've seen a lot happen, and it has been nothing but a wild ride. However, I am so happy to be back with music for you all because quite frankly, sharing music is one of the things that keeps me sane! A part of why this week was extremely crazy for me, is because of dance competition that my university hosted. Now this isn't your typical dance competition. This was a Bollywood Fusion choreography competition. Not many people are extremely familiar with the Bollywood scene, let alone the fusion side, however, the Bollywood dance circuit has grown so large, and because of that we now host nationally acclaimed competitions! It was crazy and stressful and tiring, but absolutely worth it! We got to see teams from all over the country come perform to some the sickest dance mixes out there. The choreography isn't the only thing that is a fusion of styles. These mixes have been meticulously created to give us something that is not only hyped as  hell, but also beautifully woven with Western and Eastern music. There is something unexplainably incredible and impressive about the way the music is able to transcend cultural barriers and fit like clockwork., And even more kudos to the DJ's and remixers who are able to make this magic happen! One such DJ goes by the name VGo. I have to say, VGo is one of the most low-key musicians, but he is also one of the most genuinely talented producers I have ever heard. Not only is he fantastic at remixing, VGo can take songs that have absolutely no correlation to Western music, and turn the music into something to blow your mind. VGo has been known to mix classical and traditional Bollywood music with hip hop songs from the US. In fact, he tends to be most well known for that! However, I wanted to start out with something a little closer to current Bollywood music. This mix features the verses of the ever popular, Jay-Z. Now this mix is one that takes a dance anthem and turns into something that is not only a little slower but also completely different from the original. I love what VGO did with this song because he messed with the tempo of the songs to create a balance that was perfect. This song in particular is a song that we have commonly used in the Dance Circuit and at parties in general. VGo has been able to take a song that is already so much fun and energetic, to begin with, and slows it down while still being able to maintain the aspect of "hype" and heavy bass drops. VGo's work with this song is not to be trifled with! With a sense of expertise and musical strength, VGO is a DJ who can't be stopped! Today's instrumental song is by the House of Ill Repute. Now the reason I picked the first song, was because of how seamlessly the blend between Western and Eastern music is heard. We get to hear that really nice and typical classical Indian intro. And then the song drops into something unrecognizably good. I hadn't really heard much of House of Ill Repute, but this is a show I could go to all the time. The House of Ill repute created a trap song that is unlike most groups that I have ever heard. This mix is absolutely wild and I am such a fan of that. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
