The Spacies and X Men: Days of Future Past
Today I have some music for you by the artist known as The Spacies. This song is one of the most soul blossoming and wonderful songs I have heard in a long time. This song legitimately made my heart feel so full and free like an eagle. This song makes my soul and heart soar above everything else. The Spacies did an absolutely magical and uplifting job with the production of this song, being so musically moving that you can taste that sense of freedom. You can get lost in the ecstasy of this song, a place that is one of the greatest places to be let go of everything. This song has the whole package: a wonderfully composed song, inspiring and beautiful lyrics, and an energy that never dies. The Spacies is kind of like a reminder of everything that made the world of EDM and house feel like home. This song is one that is like bright fireworks on a dark night. This song is like the ecstasy of yelling with joy as you cruise down the highway with the windows open. This song is like the magic of getting lost in the power of dance and music while everyone around you feels that same level of surrender and freedom. This is the kind of song that makes you surrender to all of the sounds and emotions that the song brings. The Spacies have done an amazing job with making sure that everything was set perfectly. The way the buildups are done and the way the "drop," that comes after is created what helps make this song something indescribably wonderful. I love how emotionally alive this song is. You don't really hear that a lot in the EDM world, but The Spacies used those programmable sounds to their advantage. It isn't the individual streams of sounds that makes this song feel like soul food. It is the way everything comes together. The detailed layering and sound placement, the perfectly crafted lyrics for a vocalist who sings the song passionately, and the way everything balances out. Those are the things that make this song what it is. When you see those moments in movies where the main characters are completely lost in the moment, this song could be playing. It has that sound of hope, and that little nuance is why this song is so powerful. There is a great strength that lies in the ability to make someone feel inspired, and this song has that. I absolutely love how meaningful and moving and transcendent the lyrics are. The message they speak to, is a message that we can all connect to and understand. This song speaks to my soul in a way that most other EDM songs have not. And even though this song is not an older one, it carries so many aspects of house music created over 7 years ago. They all share that sense of community and love and support and home and hope, the qualities that originally drew so many people to the genre. This is one of the best songs I have discovered in a while, and I am so happy to be sharing it with you all. I am so happy to be sharing a song that genuinely feels like ecstasy and cloud nine. A song that makes me hear and imagine what true and complete freedom feels like. A song that allows me to hear bow beautiful everything is and can be. The Spacies created a masterpiece unlike most others, and for that, my soul is grateful. Today's instrumental song is from the movie X Men: Days of Future Past. This is one of the lesser known pieces from the score, but it is my absolute favorite. This is a composition that is nothing but inspirational and moving. There is a magical and powerful depth to this piece, one that really does give justice to its title. This particular composition balances the vulnerability of the strings with the strength of the horns and brass, juxtaposing two of the most prevalent emotional states within the film itself. There is a slight sadness and haunting sound to the entire piece, yet that is what makes the song stand out amongst the rest. It is that acknowledgment of sadness that we cannot rid ourselves of, that give us hope. The haunting reality of that is what makes this song something we simply cannot pull ourselves away from And we really do hear that with this part of the score. The way the beginning opens with such softness and darkness, giving way to a single piano playing out the melody, the entire progression of the song tells a story. I love what John Ottman did for this piece, and there is no other way to properly express the levels of emotion felt by the character this song is named after. An astonishingly and heart-stoppingly wonderful piece, I am delighted to be able to feel this song in its entirety. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
