Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless

Well, after three days of solid remixes, I thought it was high time to go back to originals. So, I am going with a complete 180 degree turn in terms of genre. These past few days have been all about the electronic music world, but now, we enter the world of rock music. And not just any kind of rock music. Hard rock. That's right, we are getting to the gritty and rough and gravelly and all around bad ass side of things. This song is by an incredibly amazing band by the name Halestorm. I am going to be totally upfront, the most bad ass part of this band is the fact that it has a female lead singer. Not just any lead singer, a woman who has an absolutely phenomenal scream. It is very hard to hear bands that have good screamers, and even more rare to have a female deliver that great scream. But Halestorm is one of those bands that just slays it every time. Lzzy Hale is the first female vocalist I had heard from our generation that could really bring out that grit and roughness and just...

Oliver Nelson and Mark Ronson

Today I have yet another remix for you! I guess this is just going to be remix week. Which honestly is not such a bad thing because I love it when artists get really creative and put their own twist on songs that we already love. This remix has been done by Oliver Nelson and is an improved version of one of Justin Timberlake's singles. This was the first single dropped from the 20/20 Experience album, which means of course we fell in love with it. But the thing is, I never realized how much I wish there was more of an energetic groove to the song until I heard this remix by Oliver Nelson. He really brings us that suave groove that Justin Timberlake easily exudes. This remix is the only one I have heard that actually suits what the song is supposed to really make you feel. Justin Timberlake is the kind of guy who has charisma and class, someone who is effortlessly smooth. This remix captures that class and groove that we all think about when it comes to Justin Timberlake. It has tha...

DJ Snake & AlunaGeorge and Jack U

Today I have some really cool music for you by DJ Snake and Aluna George. Recently, DJ Snake has really gained in popularity, being the artist responsible for one of the biggest hits of the year on and off the dance floor. This song is a very intriguing step for DJ Snake because it is not like his other high energy and intense songs. This is something that has more subtle undertones and a more low flying sound. DJ Snake ditches his normal pumped up trap sound for a more chill and lounge sound. This version is actually quite different from the original because it offers more depth and substance to the song. Which is not a bad thing for us! I think this twist in sound and style is something the song needed to keep it something we could listen to for a while. DJ Snake created a song that is not lively, yet still vivacious. This song has the ability to make us get into that chill trap kind of vibe, something that seems like a complete contradiction yet somehow works. What I really like abo...

Today I have another remix for you all. This song is originally by one of my favorite R&B singers ever, Trey Songz. This is a guy who has some provocative and sexy songs and I absolutely love that. Sometimes when I think about how much I love songs like that, it makes me chuckle. But this song originally is one that people have been able to dance to and have a really good time with. Trey Songz has a silky voice that can really get you into a more seductive mood. He is the kind of singer that you automatically associate things like sensuality and intimacy with because of how we works his voice with the music. This song on its own is one of those songs that you can really get down to, no matter where you are. But this remixed version takes the song into a different direction. This version of the song gives us something more club worthy, something with more of a fast paced beat. Even though that is the case though, we still get that inherent R&B nature and feel to the song. During...

R3hab, Nervo, & Ummet Ozcan and Maddix

Today I decided to post some hardcore electro music because its kind of freaking awesome. This first song is collaboration done by R3hab, Nervo, and Ummet Ozcan. This song has fantastic drops that lead into these cool synth sounds and a weirdly great beat. The vocals are nice and the entire background music is so solid and full. Definitely a good mix done by these three! Today's instrumental song is by Maddix and this song is severely sick. It moves from an intense electronic sound to a smooth trance feel with some house and then transitions back to sweet beats and this persistent energy. I really like the underlying bass you hear at 3:41 because it's pretty mind-blowing. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today I have some positively amazing music by two of artists that I have been unable to get enough of lately. The Weeknd is of course one of the biggest names in the R&B world, and rightly so! His music is the best kind of seductive and sensual music and his voice is silky smooth and suave. The thing about The Weeknd is that the sultriness of his voice is enough to mask some of the really dirty lyrics he tends to have. But let us be totally honest, a voice like his is enough to set the mood. There are a lot of different ways sensual music can come forth. Sometimes it can be that slow jazz or those really nice slow jams. But with The Weeknd, we get a much darker sound, something that has a primal undertone. With The Weeknd, we get the black and white and grey scale kind of outlook, that kind of dark and intense sound and feeling. I absolutely love that! I think it is so unique to his style of singing and producing, especially given the fact that The Weeknd has a beautiful voice. Now...

David Guetta & Nicki Minaj and Cobra Starship

Hello fellow music listeners! I know my presence online has been a bit shoddy this week. However, I do have good reasoning, that being the fact that I moved this week. And with that move came a lot of working and lack of access to my computer. But here we are back at it again! Today I have music for you by the awesome David Guetta. We haven't seen much from him lately and he has stayed out of the spotlight of the music world for some time. However, it is always nice when you hear those songs that incredible artists create and they end up being older, more underground work. This song is one of those and I love how much it works as both an EDM song and a hip hop song. This one features a collaboration with one of the biggest artists-Nicki Minaj. I am a huge fan of Nicki Minaj. Some people may find her overrated or too mainstream, but there is no way they can deny her talent. Nicki Minaj is the kind of artist who lets the world know how versatile and creative she is. Her lyrics are ac...
