I noticed that a lot of the electronic music I have been posting has been more melodic and R&B oriented, so I decided to change things up a bit and return to house music, because who doesn't love some fun beats? Robin Schulz is a house artist who is definitely on the lesser known end of the scale, but is starting to make some headway into the more mainstream and popular artist realm. He isn't the most popular or well known artist, but often times it is those lesser known singers who are able to give us some of the most moving and beautiful songs. This song is one that pulled at my heart from the first listen. The musicality and movement of the song is so aptly and wonderfully described by the title of the song. This is a song that has a lot of grit and is a little rough around the edges. The guitar takes on a much edgier sound, which is something we are really missing from rock music today. This is a song that takes me back to the grungier times, the early 2000s style of rock. Today I have music for you by a more underground band by the name Gossip. This song is one that I heard a long time ago, but only recently heard again after a while. And of course, hearing this song again after so long reminded me about how good this song. There is so much energy in this song, and carries the energy of a rock song. This song has a powerhouse of a vocalist. I mean she really knows how to belt those notes out, and does so without any issue. This song goes from being a brooding prowl to being an energetic disco and indie rock song. This is something we could hear from more underground clubs, especially in the UK. In a way, this song has a really similar feel to Franz Ferdinand's old music. There is a very distinct rock sound, one that makes it clear that this is a rock song and not a synth pop or electronic poop song. They like to span all kinds of the rock spectrum, which I think is really cool. This song in particular takes on the more folk sound of things. Today I have some music for you by the DJ RL Grimes. Well actually, this is a remix of a popular song right now, but this song changes the entire sound of the original. This song is originally performed by The Weeknd. This is an artist who is known for his slow jams, and songs that are more along the sensual and seductive side of things. His songs are not necessarily very hype and energetic, which is totally okay! But with this remix, we get something that is the total opposite of that. Now this is no a happy electronic song. This falls closer to melodic dubstep in my opinion, but what I like about the remix RL Grime made is that it is very unique and original in its own way. This remix has a greater intensity to it, a sound that is great for the electronic music world. Today I have an extremely fun song for you by the artist known as Bobby Green. I am absolutely in love with this song and Bobby Green as an artist. I won't lie, a major reason that I love this song is because of the vocalist Sean Michael Murray. But this song is such a nice change of pace from the bass and beat heavy EDM we hear nowadays. This isn't a song that has moments that make you stop and listen. You are captured from the beginning.
