Coldplay and Cloud Atlas

Image
Today I have a special kind of song for you. This song is for those days where the whole world seems to be against you. This is a song for the days that you feel so completely alone. This is a song for the days when you feel the scars and aches and pains and holes left in your heart. This is a song for the days when you feel lower than you ever have. This is a song for us, the ones who feel broken. The ones who go through so many trials in life, whether it be physical, emotional, or you mental. Coldplay has been a band that has been able to understand my thoughts and feelings. Through the roughest times, there has always been one song by Coldplay that has been able to push me forward. This song is one of their most famous and I know why. Because it is for the lost ones. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Cloud Atlas. I have posted a few of the pieces from this score in the past, but this is one of the greatest compositions I have had the privilege of hearing. Ever. This sc...

The Goo Goo Dolls and The Script

Image
Today's song is by the Goo Goo Dolls. This is just such a beautiful song to listen to, and the message in the lyrics is really spectacular! This song has a perfect blend of rock and orchestra with a nice alternative touch. The energy progression is so perfectly timed and sequenced. There is so much compassion and heart and soul in this song. This is a song that is meant to pull at our heartstrings, a song that is meant to make our souls soar high and feel the world around us. This song is one of those that leaves me absolutely speechless because it makes you think. This song is one that sings straight to the love that we all have. This is a song that brings forth the idea of contentment and true happiness. This is a song that truly makes us feel, and this leaves me simply in awe. I absolutely love this song! Today's instrumental song is a cover of The Script. This is one of their more popular songs, but I think it fits well the first song! This is my favorite song fr...

Bei Maejor and X Men: Days Of Future Past

Image
Today I have some hip hop music for you because it has been quite a long time since I have posted music like this. Today's song is by Bei Maejor. I am going to be completely upfront, this is quite a sexy song. I for one love that. Bei Maejor is an incredibly talented producer. He joined Ne-Yo's production team right after graduating which is quite the impressive feat. You can hear a lot of that Ne-Yo kind of style in this song. Bei Maejor does something kind of cool with this song. First of all, he produced it himself. Second, he keeps things simple. The music in the background is rather low key. He does rely heavily on the brass instruments, but other than that all we have is a standard drum beat and synth accompaniment. Bei Maejor also seamlessly switches between rapping and singing with his silky smooth and sexy voice. There is a difference with the way this song sounds though in comparison to other songs that kind of fall into the same category. This song is not very sensua...

The 1975 and Rooney

Image
Today I have music for you by a band that I am absolutely in love with. The 1975 really blew up and and stormed to the forefront of the rock and indie world. This is a band that is equal parts ethereal and synth pop. Now I really like that because it gives the band a slightly old school kind of song and also gives them a style that is utterly recognizable. Matt Healy provides these smooth vocals that are often hauntingly beautiful or a soft, mellow jilted sound. With the vocals we hear, you can clearly tell that there is an accent there. I personally find that extremely charming and very unique. I have never heard a voice like Matt Healy's, and I could not think of a better voice to go with the kind of music The 1975 produces. The 1975 has this melancholic undertone to every one of their songs. Even the songs that are more pop oriented and energetic have this underlying melancholy and darkness to it. The 1975 aesthetically expresses this kind of juxtaposition with the consistent us...

Robert Delong and Delirious

Today I have some interesting music for you all. This is very percussion based music and has a different kind of energy to it. The tribal sounds are definitely a plus for this song. Robert Delong is actually one of the most underrated musicians. He produces all of his music, writes all the lyrics and melodies, and plays all of the instruments. I mean, it is no wonder why there is a long time span between albums. Robert Delong creates music that is electronic music inspired by alternative rock. There are a lot of genres that seem to meld well enough together, but in most situations, the question of rock and electronic music does not usually get considered. However, lately we have begun to see more mixing of the two genres and I have to say, I absolutely love it. With Robert Delong, we hear from the get go that he blends the electronic and rock music themes to create a tapestry of heavy percussion beats and synth melodies. But the cool thing is that he incorporates poppy vocals to create...

Blue Foundation and Flight Facilities

Image
Today I have music for you by the group known as Blue Foundation. Blue Foundation is a group that is most known for being a cinematic and electronic group. Their music has been featured in movies and television shows and has also been featured in major motion pictures like the Twilight series. This song is probably their most popular song and has been remixed quite a few times. This song is one of those transcendent and ethereal kind of electronic songs that drips with longing and pain in a way that you normally don't expect from electronic music. A lot of electronic music has the reputation of being loud and energetic and crazy and wild, but this song is one that really expresses the idea of facing your demons and fighting them off. This song was written and produced during a time when producer Tobias Wilner was going through a very tough time and the lyrics and instrumentation of this song is a pure expression of this struggle. This is one of those songs that you listen to when ...

The Weeknd and Fifty Shades of Grey

Image
Today I have music for you that is actually a cover of an extremely popular Beyonce song. The Weeknd is an artist with a voice like no other. This version of Beyonce's song is, in my opinion, way better than the original. Why? The Weeknd really puts his voice to work and makes this a song that is incredibly smooth and pretty sensual. This song as it is has the reputation of being a song that is widely popular and pretty sexy. The Weeknd has this way of making R&B a genre that is exclusively his own. There is so much originality and character to the way that he sings and produces each song. There is an undeniable command of the music and the melodies that The Weeknd has, and that incredible vocal control is what makes the songs so emotional and passionate. With this cover, The Weeknd brings so much desire and passion and lust to this song in a way that I personally feel Beyonce lacks. I am absolutely in love with the way The Weeknd interprets this song. He has the capability of ...
