Bei Maejor and X Men: Days Of Future Past

Today I have some hip hop music for you because it has been quite a long time since I have posted music like this. Today's song is by Bei Maejor. I am going to be completely upfront, this is quite a sexy song. I for one love that. Bei Maejor is an incredibly talented producer. He joined Ne-Yo's production team right after graduating which is quite the impressive feat. You can hear a lot of that Ne-Yo kind of style in this song. Bei Maejor does something kind of cool with this song. First of all, he produced it himself. Second, he keeps things simple. The music in the background is rather low key. He does rely heavily on the brass instruments, but other than that all we have is a standard drum beat and synth accompaniment. Bei Maejor also seamlessly switches between rapping and singing with his silky smooth and sexy voice. There is a difference with the way this song sounds though in comparison to other songs that kind of fall into the same category. This song is not very sensual, rather something sexy that would be like a mating call. The lyrics are very passionate and lustful, but the sound of the song is something more intense and made for the dance floor. You could choreograph some wicked moves to this song. The beat is slow enough to allow for those bigger movements, but just fast enough to where the song doesn't drag. The bass in this song is not the conventional kind of bass, but rather something that the brass instruments provide. That is one of my favorite parts of this song actually. The timpani and snare drum take a backseat and allow other sounds come forward and shine. Yes, there still is that percussion element, however, it is not as prominent. This is the only song by Beir Maejor that I know really well, but, I am digging and listening to his other music because if it happens to be as good as this song, I am super stoked. Today's instrumental song is from the movie X Men: Days of Future Past. While this song has pretty much no relevance to the sexy factor of the first song, it has a strong connection to the instrumentation. This is a score that makes incredible use of the brass instruments in the orchestra. A lot of action movies use that to add this wave of energy and intensity, but with this composition, the brass is what makes the song. Without it there would be no build up, no suspense. There would not be that desired epicness! And this is why brass instruments are so important to music across the board. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
