NF and Fight Club

Today I though I would get the ball rolling with some music by the artist known as NF. This is a guy who is a crazy sick rapper. I mean absolutely incredible. The style of rap in this song is one of my favorites. It is this syncopated but fast style of rapping, one that allows rappers to spit rhymes out and get in as much lyrical content as possible. Now I really love this style for two reasons. One, being able to hear the words and verses that the rapper writes is amazing. More often than not, songs like this have some sort of powerful meaning, and this song is definitely one of those. This is a song that talks about the music industry in general, about how music has changed and become a source of profit instead of art. Which is something that I can agree with, and the way this whole song is worded is absolutely fantastic. The second reason I love this style, is because there is an inherent and effortless bad-ass sound to the cadence of the rap. He is dropping rhymes as fast as he can, but doing so on his beat and rhythm while the song itself has another beat. It is as if he is rapping in double time, and I think that is super cool. NF is a very talented artist, both in musicality and songwriting. His verses are meaningful, and each song presents a different kind of message. The song starts out with this soft and angelic beginning, one that fives way to this thunderous crash of orchestral genius. A heavy drop in the bass line, to highlight the most powerful of beats. There is a will and determination to the way the music sounds. There is epic percussion work, coupled with an orchestra that soars above it all, creating a cinematic experience. That heavy bass line carries out throughout the song, being held out like a long note, adding emphasis to the mood of the song. This song has this hustle vibe to it, an intense wall of sound and energy, and it is only amplified when you throw the lyrics in. When it comes to his lyrical genius, I have to give NF some serious props. His rhymes are creative and witty, but very profound at the same time. My favorite line from the song is the very last line, so make sure to listen out for that. The spitfire rapping mixed with epic music makes this a song that is not only perfect, but absolutely inspiring and a little haunting. You actually feel the mood of the song, and want to take up that warrior mantle the way NF does. There is a complete rawness to this song, and comes down to being a transparent view into the world of music and the struggles of being a musician. I am seriously impressed by NF and am beginning the journey that is the rest of this album. Today's instrumental song is from one of the most iconic movies of the 90s. Fight Club is a movie that so many people recognize, and is one that has quite the following. This is a very intense movie, one that sheds light on the war that some people go through with themselves. This is a wickedly fantastic movie, even if it is a little vulgar, and I recommend that everyone watch it! There is so much to be understood from this movie, and I love that. Not to mention, this is a pretty hardcore soundtrack. This song in particular is one that has "intense" written all over it. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
