The Weeknd and Fifty Shades of Grey

Today I have music for you that is actually a cover of an extremely popular Beyonce song. The Weeknd is an artist with a voice like no other. This version of Beyonce's song is, in my opinion, way better than the original. Why? The Weeknd really puts his voice to work and makes this a song that is incredibly smooth and pretty sensual. This song as it is has the reputation of being a song that is widely popular and pretty sexy. The Weeknd has this way of making R&B a genre that is exclusively his own. There is so much originality and character to the way that he sings and produces each song. There is an undeniable command of the music and the melodies that The Weeknd has, and that incredible vocal control is what makes the songs so emotional and passionate. With this cover, The Weeknd brings so much desire and passion and lust to this song in a way that I personally feel Beyonce lacks. I am absolutely in love with the way The Weeknd interprets this song. He has the capability of seducing the audience with his stunning vocals. One of the things The Weeknd does is focus more on the melodies and harmonies rather than the lyrics. This allows him to make some great flows with a wide range of pitches and octaves. He adds these gorgeous trills and vibrato, and he has a voice that is extremely clear. The Weeknd also has a very strong and powerful falsetto. A lot of male singers have a breathy or soft falsetto, but The Weeknd has a falsetto that is so incredibly clear and is very full. This song is such a smooth version and just drips with sensuality and The Weeknd seems to pour his soul into each and every word. I love the way the chorus vocals are layered, to create this beautiful two part harmony that has this ethereal kind of flow to it. This cover is just incredible. I can't get enough of this song and I really hope you all go listen to more of his music! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Fifty Shades of Grey. Under no circumstance will I be watching this movie because it seems kind of....well, we all know what kind of movie Fifty Shades is. Despite the movie style, I really did enjoy the score. There is this overlying darkness to the entire thing and that is simply fantastic. There is this mysterious seductiveness to the way the score has been composed and Danny Elfman has done a phenomenal job, like he always does. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
