Today's song of the day is by a small Australian group called Strange Talk. They sound like a mix of Phoenix, The Strokes, Foster the People, and Fun. combined. Its quite great! This is their first single ever and I really liked it. Not only is the song really catchy and pretty dancy, but the music video is really cool too. I think this song is really well balanced between all the instruments and the beat is really pumped and energetic! Hopefully you will all like it! And if you have not heard of any of the other four bands, I strongly recommend that you go listen to them because they are so amazing! Today I have music for you by one of my favorite solo artists ever, Michael Buble. I am keeping this post a little bit shorter because I feel like everything that can be said about Michael Buble is in the way he sings. He sings with energy and passion, and his songs are so vivacious. This song is one of those really fun ones that takes a modern twist on big band and swing. What I love about this godsend is that he is talented not only in the singing department, but in performing as well. He knows how to entertain while he sings and he also knows how to effectively make some groovy music. When you listen to music like this, you can't help but want to get up and dance or sway and snap. Today I have some trap music for you because why not? Sometimes you get in those fun moods when all you really want to listen to is some intense or really energetic music. Well, I can tell you that this music today is energetic, intense, wild, and all around sick. Both of these songs feature minimal lyrics and a lot of beats so bear with the music if you are keen on having lots of lyrics. This first song is by Yellow Claw, a trio out of Amsterdam. Yellow Claw always does a really good job of making music with R&B and rap beats and turning it into some sick electronic music. This song has a really heavy rap beat influence, but you can also clearly tell that it is trap. The entire progression of the song is so awesome because it starts out with just the repeated verse and then adds on the high hat beats, leading to a "drop of sorts." Today I have some country music for you. It has been an insanely long time since I have posted any country music, so for those of you out there who are fans of country, this is for you! And I am sorry it took me this long to post one...but this song is by an artist called Same Hunt. Not only is he a fabulously good looking guy, his voice is equally as good. I have to say, one of the things that really sets country apart from other genres of music is this really genuine and warm sound to it. Every country song you hear always sounds so warm and cozy and really does remind you of a Texas sunset. This song in particular is one of those cute love songs that country singers have that use really interesting lyrics but it still works. Actually, only country songs could pull off lyrics that reference Levi jean, and boy does Sam Hunt pull it off well. Today I have music for you by Ansolo, also known more famously as Ansel Elgort. That's right boys and girls, Ansel Elgort has entered the world of DJ-ing and electronic music. And he is good. Very good. In fact, Ansel Elgort is so good, that he was invited to play at Electric Zoo Festival in New York. That requires some major talent and I can see why he was chosen for it. Ansolo has some talent! This song is just a remix he has done, and it is one of the most epic things I have ever heard! There is a brilliant use of fading in and out and there is this wicked weaving of the lyrics into the music. This song takes a lot of the original song, but Ansolo twists it so much so that we really only get the main chorus melody. Everything is so uniquely Ansolo and this is a great track to allow you to brace yourself for the wicked world of Ansolo. Today is kind of a special day for me for two reasons. One, I was able to witness the greatness that is Bastille live and it completely blew my mind. There is always that moment with a band you love where the first time you heard something, you fell in love. Well, Bastille made me fall head over heels for a second time with their music. It was incredibly and absolutely magnificent. Dan Smith sounds even better in person and he sang with strength and beauty and power and tenderness. Everything about every song was perfect and enhanced so that we all felt the energy thrum through our bodies. It was brilliant beyond measure! So, in honor of the incredible nature of Bastille and their spectacular performance, their masterful skill, and moving songs, the first song of the day is by them. Today's song of the day is by a British alternative band called Wolf Gang. They are definitely not a very popular group, which sucks because I think their style is so refreshing and new! This song takes rhythms from the 80's and meshes them with more current sounds and instruments. They have a sound that is almost like fun. and the Naked and Famous came together and went back in time to the 80's. Its pretty darn amazing! The vocals in this song are awesome. Max McElligot has an incredible falsetto which is a full sound. A lot of times, when males sing in falsetto, some of the actual voice gets lost in teh attempt to reach those high notes. But with Wolf Gang, we can hear that Max McElligott is actually capable of singing strongly in falsetto. And for this song, the falsetto sounds so perfect. The tone of this song is really upbeat and warm and hopeful. But, this is not one of those songs that is super bubbly and happy either. We get this positive energy mixed with this calm...
