Collin McLoughlin and The 1975

Today I have music for you by the singer known as Collin McLoughlin. So a quick background on this singer, he started out doing covers of different songs and artists. He became pretty YouTube famous, from which he then turned his eye towards bigger things. Auditioned for The Voice, was on Adam's team for a while, and then lost in the battle round. He was then stolen by Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green, and ended up staying in the competition for a while. He was also the first artist to ever be stolen on the show, so that was pretty exciting. Fast forward a little bit and then we get to the song of the day. So Collin McLoughlin is clearly a gifted singer. I mean the guy has seen quite a bit of singing success. But did you know he also produces his own music? Yup, his debut album was completely self produced. The lyrics, composition, performance, and production were all done by Collin McLoughlin. Needless to say, this guy is not only musician goals, but also is a very talented human being. This song is the first song on the album and is such a great showcase of his talent from the get go. He may not be a professional DJ, but his mixing and production skills are so wickedly solid. It seems like Collin McLoughlin's point of interest when it comes to making original music is knowing how to create different sounds that are programmed. I mean that is so freaking cool, but I also feel like programming music is definitely not easy, so for as much as I love music, I may have to start learning how to do all of that. But the main genre that Collin McLoughlin sticks with is something called melodic dubstep. This basically means that there is an actual song happening, not just some weird alien noises. Melodic dubstep has a lot of diversity, but it is in the way they sing, not the overall sound.. Melodic dubstep has a really nice song as the main and bass track so that people can get how both of them work. The boys are already working, so it must be a little it weird. But again, it is the progress of actually trying that makes a difference. Collin McLoughlin has a very powerful voice, a nice strong and clear voice. I can actually understand what he is singing! Very rare times when that happens. I mean I couldn't sit or move much, but Panic! At the Disco is just such an awesome group. And that is kind of what I am hoping for, me if you win. But Collin McLoughlin is so perfect for these EDM genres. They all kind of have this underlying darkness or need for inspiration when we made them. His voice is one that has been featured in a lot of other songs, like Hardwell and Laidback Luke and Vicetone. Some pretty big names isn't it? It is both wonderful and taunting at the same time. But moving off vocals, the production and composition of this song is absolutely sick. I mean everything is balanced well, the dubstep part wasn't like talking to an alien. I mean it works really well, he knows the order, so they got it! But producing melodic dubstep like that on your first song, that is really nerve wracking and pretty ballsy. It isn't often that melodic dubstep becomes a big thing, but it did for a while. This song resurfaced because of that actually! But I seriously do love the song, and really like the charm bracelet. Today's instrumental song is by The 1975. Yes, they do individual or actually recorded dessert. Even the vibe is kind of similar. But i can dig!  We don't want to share :) Poonum and I are going to start learning how to line the differnt kinds
