Blue Foundation and Flight Facilities

Image
Today I have music for you by the group known as Blue Foundation. Blue Foundation is a group that is most known for being a cinematic and electronic group. Their music has been featured in movies and television shows and has also been featured in major motion pictures like the Twilight series. This song is probably their most popular song and has been remixed quite a few times. This song is one of those transcendent and ethereal kind of electronic songs that drips with longing and pain in a way that you normally don't expect from electronic music. A lot of electronic music has the reputation of being loud and energetic and crazy and wild, but this song is one that really expresses the idea of facing your demons and fighting them off. This song was written and produced during a time when producer Tobias Wilner was going through a very tough time and the lyrics and instrumentation of this song is a pure expression of this struggle. This is one of those songs that you listen to when ...

The Weeknd and Fifty Shades of Grey

Image
Today I have music for you that is actually a cover of an extremely popular Beyonce song. The Weeknd is an artist with a voice like no other. This version of Beyonce's song is, in my opinion, way better than the original. Why? The Weeknd really puts his voice to work and makes this a song that is incredibly smooth and pretty sensual. This song as it is has the reputation of being a song that is widely popular and pretty sexy. The Weeknd has this way of making R&B a genre that is exclusively his own. There is so much originality and character to the way that he sings and produces each song. There is an undeniable command of the music and the melodies that The Weeknd has, and that incredible vocal control is what makes the songs so emotional and passionate. With this cover, The Weeknd brings so much desire and passion and lust to this song in a way that I personally feel Beyonce lacks. I am absolutely in love with the way The Weeknd interprets this song. He has the capability of ...

Schiller and The Glitch Mob

Today I have some really amazing music by a German artist by the name Schiller. A friend of mine introduced me to Schiller and I have been binge listening to his music because it is that good. Talk about trance music that really puts you in another state of mind! What Schiller does is absolutely wonderful! Schiller is an artist who likes to throw in a lot of different flairs to an underlying common sound with his music. But that underlying trance is what brings his style to the forefront. Schiller is an artist who likes to create trance music the way it was made at the beginning. His type of trance is what people should think about when thinking about that kind of music. What I like about this though is Schiller is able to add in anything from funk to disco to Europop into his songs and still make them all sound like trance. This is not an easy feat, and it is something I am very impressed with. Schiller also kind of spans the energy spectrum with his music. It is not all laid back tra...

Birds of Tokyo and How To Train Your Dragon

Image
Today I have some music for you by Birds Of Tokyo. Now I have to say, this band always seems to throw in little surprises into their songs. Each one has a special musical theme that is very intriguing. In this song, the theme kind of centers around the use of the bass guitar to create the main background sounds and beat with the help of some piano synth. Pretty spectacular in my opinion. And the climax isn't really made with a huge instrumental change but rather, a rising of the vocals and then a single drum beat. I think it is absolutely amazing! It takes a lot of precision and accuracy to create such a build up of energy with something so simple. Today's instrumental song is from one of my favorite animated movies ever! How To Train Your Dragon is just an amazing movie with great lessons, a great script, and a phenomenal soundtrack. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

The Shaukeens and Skrillex

Today I have some sick music for you all. This song comes from the world of Bollywood, but has an extremely interesting dynamic to it. Generally, Bollywood music tends to stray away from a lot of remixing and heavy electronic work, but recently, that ideal has changed. We hear a lot more EDM and house woven throughout the Indian kind of sound. With this song, we get Bollywood and dubstep. This song may even be the first of its kind, but I do know for sure this is the first Bollywood-Dubstep to ever get popularized. This song comes from the movie The Shaukeens which many people have never heard about, even those who actively watch Bollywood movies. But this song seemed to really take off and become a huge hit. What I love about this song is that it is very versatile in the dance world. This is a song that can be used to work out to, it is a song that you can up with sick choreography, and it is a song that is perfect for the club. Now some people have their own opinions about this song,...

Gotye and 10,000 BC

Image
Today I have some music by the artist known as Gotye. His most popular song was heard all over the world and is actually deemed one of Australia's most influential artists. However, I am not here to talk about a song that pretty much everybody seems to know. Gotye is an artist who has a very interesting an unique style. While none of his songs sound the same, there is this commonality in the way they are produced and performed that makes them stand out as clearly one of Gotye's. Whether it be a more energetic or subdued song, there always seems to be an underlying motif that connects all the songs together. Gotye creates music that can be seen as a bold move in the realm of pop music. He is not afraid to make the music completely his and totally out there. This is one of my favorite songs off the album for that very reason. This song in particular is incredibly intriguing because it has this intense energy to it that kind of captivates and holds you tight in its grip that you c...

George Ezra and The Walking Dead

Image
Today I have music for you by an up and coming artist out of the UK. George Ezra is an artist who delivers very different kinds of folk and blues music. His specific style or genre is actually very hard to define. It is full of complicated mixes of blues, rock, folk, soul, etc. However, his music as a whole is utterly recognizable. In his debut album, Wanted on Voyage, George Ezra explores the entire spectrum of folk music, from acoustic folk rock to classic Western sounds. For an artist who is just 21 years old, George Ezra has an extremely mature voice that he knows how to control. His voice is rusty and gravelly and rough around the edges, but there is a charm there that captures you and keeps you held in awe. George Ezra is one of the most distinctive sounding singer in the world of blue-eyed soul. What is special about this voice is the capability of belting out the notes and then switching to something softer, soothing, and even a little bit intimate. Each song tends to take on m...
