Keeping It Fresh

Today I have some music for you by Michael Jackson. I recently got some really bad news and learned that someone I knew had passed away. I wanted to find a song that kind of described her and how abrupt her life was ended. It was kind of a huge shock for me and my fellow teammates. Honestly, this is going to be a shorter post than normal. But this song has an inspirational orchestral in the background that captures both the melancholy and has a tone that reminds us that life is something to be celebrated. This song is perfect with its piano opening and closing. Michael Jackson offers the most perfect voice and lyrics for this song and what it entails. Today's instrumental song is from the movie The Return Of The King. This score has a melancholy and uplifting sound to it which is what times like these encompass. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today I have music for you by the band Echosmith. Honestly, this song is one that would have fit in perfectly with The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty. This song is really sweet and romantic. It kind of reminds me of what I want in a man. I think the first think I paid attention to was the lyrics. There are a lot songs out there that are girls telling guys what they should and should not do for a woman. But this is the first song that is not annoying and really makes me blush a little. I like it because it talks about the girl's perspective and then the lyrics go into what the guy needs to do. The lyrics are so very sweet and they are words that every girl wants. I think these are lyrics that should be heeded by guys but that is just me. I like how this song stresses the idea that a relationship is a two way street. It is not just about what the girl wants, but it is about the common feelings that the both of them share and the way the two of them feel. It serves as an outside view of ...

Today I have some music for you that falls on the sad and melancholy side of things. Today's song is by one of my favorite vocalists, Andrew Belle. As a solo artist, Andrew Belle has a style that is completely his own and falls into the group of lesser known, more underground artists. It is a shame that artists like this are not more prominent because songs like this are some of the most beautiful. Andrew Belle has a simplicity in his music which makes it even more powerful and moving. He sings with so much passion and soul, but has a slightly gravelly voice which is to die for. It gives this song a more vulnerable sound to it. I got chills listening to this song because it has an ethereal background while also having something that is so grounding. The lyrics of the song are so beautiful and sad and even romantic. The chorus line, the question he asks, it is emotional and meaningful. The vocals Andrew Belle provides adds so much to the meaning of this song because he does sound so...

Today I have a really cool sounding song by a band known as Phantom Planet. I only recently heard about this band and this song and have realized how much I missed. This band is so weirdly awesome. That is the only way I can describe it accurately! This song has this cool charm and suave to it while also being energetic and being something that you can't help jam to. The liveliness of this song is so infectious and wonderfully awesome. This song has so many phenomenal things going on in it. To start, the opening is a blast of energy that sets up the rest of the song. This song has moments that are actually like 60's pop music which sounds really incredible with the other musical characteristics we hear in the song. It is kind of cool though because in this case, the pop-esque sounds kind of give way to more of a power pop feel. But this pop-esque feel is brought to us more from the actual instruments rather than the synth. In fact, this song has little no pretty much no synth w...

Today I have music for you by a band that I absolutely love! Wild Cub has such a great sound and they sound so different from a lot of the other indie bands out there. Just in general, they have music that is very different than a lot of others out there. One of the things that this band tends to focus more on is complexity in their melodies. Yes there is a repetition, but a lot of the song's focus is on the instrumentation of the song. The mood of the song changes with the instrumentation, from something more ambient to something that takes on a lot of energy. It is really cool to hear because this song does not have the super pumped up energy that a lot of other songs have. There is restraint to the speed and energy of the song and it does so much for creating the mood. This song is one of those that evokes different emotions and states of being. It does not evoke the normal emotions that songs usually do like love, but it brings out something that is definitely human, but someth...

Today I have music for you by Fleet Foxes. This song is a really nice song to listen to while doing something relaxing or easy going. I hadn't heard this song until recently but I fell in love with it. Everything about this song is so nice to listen to and it is very different from a lot of the folk music we hear today. This is folk music that has a slightly darker undertone to it, but while this song does have a little bit of that darkness, it has these brighter spots which adds so much to the song. I love the vocals of this song. The first thing we hear is the vocals of the lead singer and his voice has a very nice twang to it. It is not a heavy Southern twang, but is a slight trace that gives this song a folksy sound. The harmonies in this song are absolutely wonderful as well. There are three and four part harmonies in this song and all of them are flawlessly executed. This song has a sound that is both urban and rustic at the same time. I love this so much about the band. They...

Today I have music for you by one of my favorite bands, The Script. I think the thing that really made me fall in love with The Script is their lyrics. I have not heard another band write lyrics quite like The Script does. Each song has so much depth and passion for what they are singing about. These songs have so much meaning to them because they come from a place of understanding and genuine care. A lot of their songs are associated with love and what comes with being in love. However, this song is something completely different from all of the songs that you have heard this year. This song is about the everyday person, the one who struggles and overcomes hurdles to get to where they are going. The chorus lines in the song and the final line are my favorite because they are so powerful but simple. When you actually take the time to pay attention to what they are saying, there is depth to their words. And this is what really captivates me. They are able to convey powerful and strong i...
