DJ A.Sen & DJ Amann and Edward Maya

Today I have a very interesting song for you. This is a remixed version of a Bollywood song and I can tell you that I like this version a lot. Now I am going to say now that I am not condoning nor rejecting the use of hookah. You do what you need to. Now, this song has been very well remixed. It retains a lot of the original content of the song. If you go listen to the original version you can definitely hear what stayed the same and what was changed. For example, this remixed version is faster and maintains the same beat throughout. The original song has a period of time in which the beat is slowed down and it kind of breaks the song a bit. From the get go we get that Eastern feel while also clearly hearing the more European electronic influences. Especially the Romanian/Israeli/Middle Eastern style of electronic music. The way the the synth is done has that sound, that very Edward Maya sound. Honestly, I love that so much! Sometimes I find it way better than some of the electronic mu...

Jupiter Rising and Capital Cities

Image
Today I have music for you by a duo known as Jupiter Rising. This song is definitely on the older side of the newer style of pop music but it still has that really appealing sound that we all like. I think what makes this song different from a lot of others is that it has that banter between the two singers that is of the flirty nature. Not to mention the fact that both of these singers have really good voices as well. These are vocals that definitely sound amazing with this electro style. This isn't like the typical house or electro songs and follows more on the pop side. The melody and instrumentation of this song reminds me of late 90s and early 2000s songs. It has a heavy use of keyboards, synths, and drums. It is one of those songs that is good for clubbing to and can always be a go to song for any kind of dance party. This song has been called a ready made synth beat which I can agree with. There isn't much remixing needed for it to be a good addition to a club's play...

The 1975 & The Odd Life Of Timothy Green

Today I have music for you by a really great indie band that I haven't posted about in a long time called The 1975. I have yet to hear a song by this band that I do not like. There is an extremely unique sound to this band from the vocals the instrumentation. I feel like the vocals give a clear picture as to why they sound so unique. Many times with foreign singers, the accents all sound the same when singing. But what makes this band so unique and original and defined is the fact that Matt Healy sings and maintains his accent. You can clearly hear the English accent when he sings and I find it perfectly beautiful and cute. There is a little bit of individuality, maturity, sophistication, and cheekiness in the way he sings and that accent brings forward a very special sound. There is something that Matt Healy does to make every song have either an ethereal or haunting sound to it simply because of his voice. This is a voice I never get tired of because it is so refreshingly differe...

Frank Sinatra and Saving Mr. Banks

Image
Today I have a song for you that is one of my all time favorites. This song is an iconic song and is one that I know will stand the test of time. Frank Sinatra has the perfect voice for this romantic song and I will always love this song for the sheer beauty and romanticism that is woven into this song. You cannot have one without the other because then it wouldn't be the same song. I have yet to hear a song that meets this caliber of being simply romantic and wonderful. There is a sense of effortlessness to this song. Sinatra sings this song with passion alone and doesn't try to make it sound like anything else. It is one of those songs that he sings from the soul of himself and because he does so, we all feel the same goosebumps and excited shivers of love. This song has passion and love and romance thrust upon it that there is nothing else that can compare. There are so many elements to this song which make it the most absolutely perfect song. To begin with, music is just ph...

Disciples and Man Of Steel

Hey guys! I am back, and I apologize for leaving you all hanging yesterday. But I am back and have some new music for you and hopefully it will be some good stuff for you guys! This first song is a really smooth and chill remix of a song by OneRepublic. As it is, Ryan Tedder has a phenomenal voice that can pull off so many different sounds and genres. What I love about this is that he unintentionally came up with a song that had the right vibe and sound to it that we were able to get this remix from Disciples. This song has that really chill sound from house music and it almost doesn't even sound like house. It seems to laidback for that! However, I think this remix is really sick. It maintains the elements of OneRepublic song like the vocals, but the melodies in this song have been so perfectly done so that a whole new sound is created. I understand, this is a remix and of course it is a new sound. But Disciples makes this song completely different and the song itself has a totall...

Diplo & Nicky Da B and Gent & Jawns

Image
Today I have some music for you by Diplo and features the wonderful rapping of Nicky Da B. I found about this song through its use in 22 Jump Street. This song has that really awesome Diplo sound, the one that is his signature feel. The thing about Diplo is that yes he is an electronic musician, but his style is completely different from the majority of well known DJ's in the industry. He has this really dirty spin to his music and it is wicked cool. I won't lie, Diplo is one of those artists that I can listen to when I'm doing something that requires energy, but his music is sometimes too much to listen to all the time. But this song has this really nice beat to it that never drops in energy nor speed. The rapper in this song raps with that same level of energy even though half of what he says is unintelligible. Maybe that is what makes him sound really good in this song. There is a level of energy to which he could be saying nonsense and it would still sound sick. Don...

Big Data and Fight Club

Image
Today I have an extremely catchy song for you by the group known as Big Data. This song does not have your typical rock sound to it. There are elements of some chillstep and indie to it that moves the song from being straight rock. There is this really nice retro feel to this song. I think that might have to do with the heavy bass guitar use, but then again, the instrumentation of this song goes in so many different directions that it could be a multitude of things. I think the first thing that struck me when I heard this song was the disparity between the bass guitar opening and the higher pitched voice we hear. When I first heard this, I definitely expected a gruffer voice, maybe even a little Nirvana style. But instead we got this awesome indie rock voice which I think sounds really great! These vocals are pretty much perfect because they are able to capture that rock feel while also maintaining a mysterious nature. This song has something that really does feel like we are going bac...
