Frank Sinatra and Saving Mr. Banks

Today I have a song for you that is one of my all time favorites. This song is an iconic song and is one that I know will stand the test of time. Frank Sinatra has the perfect voice for this romantic song and I will always love this song for the sheer beauty and romanticism that is woven into this song. You cannot have one without the other because then it wouldn't be the same song. I have yet to hear a song that meets this caliber of being simply romantic and wonderful. There is a sense of effortlessness to this song. Sinatra sings this song with passion alone and doesn't try to make it sound like anything else. It is one of those songs that he sings from the soul of himself and because he does so, we all feel the same goosebumps and excited shivers of love. This song has passion and love and romance thrust upon it that there is nothing else that can compare. There are so many elements to this song which make it the most absolutely perfect song. To begin with, music is just phenomenal. There is something about emotions that jazz and big band captures that no other grouping can capture. They capture that really romantic side of music, and it almost like a shy love. Of course, this song would be incomplete without the strings. When combined, there is a certain emotional response that no guitar, no drum, no synth, no instrument that can capture what the orchestra has captured here. When I hear this song, all I want to do is go ballroom dancing with someone. I want to go back to that era of real romanticism and wild youth and a sophistication that envelops everything. To be completely honest, it would love to see a revival of the big band and jazz and swing style of music. There are a few artists that are bringing it back, but there is something so special about this music and I wish it would make a great resurfacing. I can't help but feel exactly what the song is about whether it be love, sadness, excitement, or tranquility. And the voices, oh how splendid! Swing swingers have a specific voice that has a smooth voice, but also has a little bit of a rocky tone to it as well. There is depth and character to their voices and their voices are ones that make us want to listen. There is an element of beautiful vibrato and of sustaining notes. They do this all with the incredible vocals they have and it is something you won't hear in any other genre. To have this kind of a voice is just so special. I can't express how much I love this song and every little aspect of it. There are a few covers of this song that really get what this song is trying to convey. These covers are just as splendid as this Sinatra version and I only wish I had gotten an opportunity to see him sing this live. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Saving Mr. Banks. I have to say, this movie was magnificent! This movie has so much depth to it and it really makes you think about the world around you and the people that you meet. What makes us the way we are? The score is adorable to say the least. Since the movie is based on the creation of Mary Poppins, classic songs are embedded into the score. I must applaud Thomas Newman on that stroke of genius and creativity. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
