Flume & Kučka and Disclosure

Recently a lot of artists have dropped new tracks and single across all genres, and I for one, am so excited by this. And the cool thing is, it isn't just popular artists who are releasing new material. There are so many older artists and underground artists who are showing us their music and skills, reminding and informing us that they are still around and kicking. One such artist is Flume. Now I wouldn't go so as to say that he is an underground artist. At this point about a year or two ago, I would definitely concede in saying that the man falls into the underground and outsider genre of electronic music. But the hit single producer made so many waves within the pop music industry last year and made his name known to a lot of listeners. However, there is more music to Flume than just that single. And today, I want to talk about Flume's latest and quiet song release.

If you have ever heard a song that reminds you of a runway or high fashion modeling, this song would belong in that playlist. Flume's latest hit features some incredibly fresh beats and a throbbing bass to push everything along. What is nice about this song is that it doesn't have the subwoofer heavy bass beats going on. There is a lighter and more pleasurable bass beat which creates the underlying base of the song. The Grammy-winning producer gives us a song that is eclectic and soothing at the same time. He gives us a satiable blend of smooth house rhythms and seductive vocals while also giving us a pulsating dance beat. What is even better, is that this beat is syncopated, creating a rhythmically different and glitchy dance track.  Flume never fails to give us something that is polished and well produced; each track sounds different from the others before it. In this case, there is something oddly ethereal and futuristic about the synth work here. That niche sound is what gives the song that strong runway vibe. Despite Flume's ascent into mainstream music, he still maintains that intriguing assortment of underground sounds.

The vocals in this song are a bit eerie which I found very enticing. Combined with the signature glitchy synth work and haunting vocals, we have a track with just the right kind of intense atmosphere. This isn't the first time Flume has collaborated with Kučka. In fact, the album which Flume took home a Grammy for, features Kučka couple of times. Her voice is light and feathery, yet has the ability to make the song feel like a wild beast. Her sultry vocals have an elegance and darkness which is brought into the song. This is an energetic dance song that feels like a slower and darker piece of work. Kučka's voice is the cherry on top, in making this one of the most eerily thrilling songs I have ever heard. Her voice does a fabulous job of drawing us into the song and doesn't loosen its hold on our ears. Flume weaves Kučka's voice into the claps, distorted melodies, and relentless beat to create a song that is extremely intriguing and off kilter. Flume delivers again with this latest single, one which was supposed to be an extension of his previous album. I am glad he saved it though! This latest release is absolutely intoxicating and upbeat, a great combination. I cannot wait to see what Flume does to expand upon this latest track, either creating a new album or releasing tracks constantly. Either way, it will be a great musical ride.

Today's instrumental song is by an artist who automatically popped into my head when I first heard the track. Disclosure is very well known for producing some wicked club songs. This dynamic duo has been putting out club bangers and was a great complement to the fist song of the day. This futuristic and modeling-esque song is a great way to get something that is a bit more relaxing while still exciting. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
