Bart & Baker and Aladdin

Today I have a song which is a very eclectic one. This song is a remixed version of a popular song from the 1950's. This was originally a swing based song, which was remixed by Bart & Baker. I have to be honest, I had never heard of Bart & Baker until hearing this song, but I really like what they did with this song! Instead of turning this song into a straight electronic remix, we get a smooth electronic swing song which is even better. Electro swing is one of the coolest and most fun genres out there. The energy and engagement that these songs have is just incredible. There is a nonstop fountain of excitement and strangeness and fun that you can't help but dance to the song. This song reflects a lot of electronic elements which I found really interesting. A lot of electro swing groups have that perfect blend of electronic and swing sounds. One normally doesn't overpower the other, and this song finds a great balance as well. This song even keeps the marimba and brass sounds! There are some distinct Middle Eastern melodies in this song, but instead of being that more exotic and mysterious sound we get the more cartoon-esque sound. This song has the older element to it which is why we get something that is generally an older take on the regional sound. Bart & Baker make the song work though and take it to a really fun level. Not only is this a swing song we can dance to with a modern twist, but the electronic element makes it such a great song to even throw down some hip hop to. I was really taken by this song because of how interesting it sounds. There are a lot of different sounds going on here but none of them clash. Bart & Baker did an awesome job with this song and I seriously hope there are more remixes like this out there by them. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Aladdin. Now the reason I chose this particular movie is because it captures that animated Turkish sound that we get with the first song. It is the more playful and upbeat sound that we hear from music of that time period. Aladdin is a more modern movie but the composers of the scores and soundtrack really captured that animated and exciting sound. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
