Clubfeet and Tove Lo

Today I have music for you by a band that goes by the name Clubfeet. This song has a really cool sound to it. When you feel like listening to indie style electronic music, this group is one that can satiate your desire, and do it with mad style.

Clubfeet is a group which has such a smooth sound to it but the band falls on that psychedelic side of music as well. This song is one that is hard for me to describe because it sounds very familiar in the tonality and melodies but also sounds very original. The track has that independent and unique vibe and sounds that no one else can copy.

I am a huge fan of the way the vocals are presented because it is done so with layers. It is never just one voice and one sound you hear from the vocals, but many harmonies and different ways of singing the same lines. Something about that is very much like Imogen Heap's style of vocal layering. I also like the fact that they do maintain the conventional band instruments while also incorporating all the synth that you hear in the song. The drums' presence is pretty obvious, but there is a subtle guitar line at the very beginning that you might miss if you don't listen carefully. I missed it the first time around! The chorus is mainly highlighted by a more intense and upbeat keyboard/synth line. Otherwise, the rest of the song maintains this grey feel to it, not melancholy and not happy but just feeling. This song doesn't make me feel a specific emotion, rather, it just makes me feel in general. It makes me want to think and explore the depths of my own imagination.

The production of this song is also pretty darn impressive. There is musical programming that was used in the making of this song which is so cool! A lot of people don't even consider the possibility of programming music as something that occurs. But this song, including the programming, is really wicked. This song is just so nice to listen to, especially at night. I hope you all go check out the rest of their music!

Today's instrumental song is by Tove Lo. This song is actually pretty good, with and without the vocals. There is something kind of special about the way the instrumental version is done. It captures a different essence of the song that we may not have been able to glean from the original. But there is this settling calm to this song and it is another one of those special ones that really makes you feel emotions. This song has a really nice synth melody, a nice and simple one accompanied by some drum work. Possibly the rims of snare drums. This song is definitely on the softer side of things which is really nice because it is something you can listen to whenever. It can calm you down or fit the rainy weather outside or just something nice to hear when the moon is out and shining. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
