Medasin and Galimatias

Today I am bringing it back to the chill side of things, taking it slower with some nice and smooth electronic music. This song is by the aritst know as Medasin. Other than the fact that this is a cool name, the music produced by Medasin is very smooth and cool. The soothing sound this young producer creates is something that is very unique. Medasin has this incredible ability to form and morph an atmosphere. The carefully crafted ambience is what makes his music more emotional than other electonic songs. It almost seems like Medasin is able to effortlessly connect to the sense of pathos we all share, and that flawless production is what makes Medasin stand out from the other up and coming artists on platforms like Soundcloud. Now this specific release is more about getting the "feel good" vibes flowing. With a slightly tropical twist, this song takes us on a soulful and ethereal journey, meandering aong through the states of dreaming and awake. There is a comforting warmth to the song as well, and interestingly enough, it comes from the vocals. I love how there are lines where there are multiple vocal lines layered on each other, creating an intricate and deep level of harmonization. The vocals of this song are light and feathery as well, a soft brush against the production of this song. Medasin's sonic capability is evident in the way he experiments with his music. This song is definitely a bit of an experimental song, given the different genre sounds that we hear in the midde ground of the song. The uplifting and light headed, dizzy beats are  wonderfully fun and transcendent addition to the song. There is such a mellow and low key tone to the song, making it a perfect addition to your summer evening playlists. There is quite a bit of rhythm to this song, but there is this unstructured nature to the beats of the song, making it even more enticing and riveting. This song really makes you feel like you are wandering between the states of dreaming, being awake, and even daydreaming. There is a magical mysteriousness to the song which makes it such fun soul food. The comfortable positivity is what brings the emotional aspects of the song together, painting an image that is an exciting adventure! Today's instrumental song is by the artists known as Galimatias. He has a sound that is kind of similar to that of Medasin, but I think Galimatias use a little bit more instrumentation than production. As someone who plays an instrument, I will always be biased towards an artist who uses more instruments in their mix. I am also impressed by electronic artists who use a lot of acutal instrumentation and musicality in their mixes. Galimatias opens the sng with piano work and then transitions to including the differnet instruments, including the tabla an jazzier elements. It is actually so awesome to hear how jazzy this song actually is! Galimatias uses a fantastic variety of instruments in this song, including stringed instruments and a tabla set. I definitely am a huge fan of the usage of a tabla in the music. It gives this song a completely differnet sound and vibe. This song has such a mellowed out and chill vibe, a great lounge song. This is another one of those ethereal songs that has the ability to take you to another state of mind. The ambience of this song is so smooth and well polished so that it has that transcendent and full sound. The subject matter of both songs is the same, and I love that we get to hear how each artist interprets the topic of dreams. This seems a bit like the playlist for Inception, but I cannot deny how nice these songs are to listen to.Galimatias is another one of those underrated artists, but hopefuly we get to seem his music take more traction and take off!
