Live, Sik-K, PunchNello, Owen Ovadoz, & FlowSik and Kanye West

Today I have music for you that I haven't blogged about in a long time. It has been a ridiculously long time since I posted anything out of the world of Korean rap. This song has been one of my main jams for a while now because of how wicked it sounds. This song has the swag of gangster rap infused with the gritty sound that only Korean rappers can bring. Now most of these artists are not ones that I listen to on the regular. This song actually reminds me of one of those rap songs that features a bunch of popular rappers. But this song mainly features Live, Sik-K, PunchNello, Owen Ovadoz, and FlowSik. And let me tell you, these beats are sick. This is a really cool song because the repetitive beat is not only something that is ridiculously catchy, but it is simple and allows us to focus more on the rap itself. These verses are extremely clever and borderline funny. I love the way these Korean rappers reference so many pop culture phenomena that are mainly American in origin. Even the people that the verses refer to are generally part of the American pop culture scene. And I love how these Korean rappers seamlessly blend the Western influences and their native Korean influences. Korean rappers generally do an amazing job of blending languages, but these guys blend cultures as well. The talent in this song is overwhelming, and when we add in the infectious beat, the song becomes something that we can't get enough of.  This song is so perfect whenever you feel like a bad ass. This song is straight fire, and if this is your first exposure to Korean rap, I am so glad that this is the song you get to hear. Today's instrumental song is by an artist who is known for having sick beats and charismatic energy. Kanye West is one of the most famous and popular rappers of all time, and it doesn't come just from the words he spits out. While his verses and rhymes are some of the most interesting I have heard, they would not be as phenomenal without a beat. And Kanye's production work is borderline genius. Every song sounds different and has a different sound. Kanye's ability to be so completely dynamic and of his own is something that makes me respect him as an artist. This song is one of his most popular songs from years ago. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
