Angels & Airwaves and Game Of Thrones

Today I have some music for you by the band called Angels and Airwaves. For those of you who don't know, this band is a mix of members from other big rock bands. The lead vocalist is Tom Delonge from Blink 182 and other members of the band include those from Nine Inch Nails, The Offspring, and 30 Seconds To Mars. Angels and Airwaves is a band that I find to be really unique because the members bring styles from their respective bands and combine them together to get Angels and Airwaves. This is a band that does have a rock focus, but a lot of the music is also synth oriented and ambient. This is quite different in comparison to many other rock bands out there because of how synth and electronic driven this group is. This song in particular mixes the rock and snth elements to make a song that is hauntingly dark but still beautiful. There is this great use of reverb to create this grand space of sound that both fills and leaves a lot open, kind of like the universe. This song has a lot of similarity to the group the xx, but also has characteristics that make it unique to this band. The drawling vocals of Tom Delonge add this spacey feeling to the song and gives us this sense of floating in the open air and space. This is a song that is a bit of story telling and a bit describing the idea of human behavior. There is a depth and complexity not only to the instrumentation, but to the lyrics as well. I find this song both calming and pensive, something that could be philosophical. Today's instrumental song is from the television show Game of Thrones. Not only does this show have an incredible plot to it, the cast is stellar and the music compositions are some of the greatest I have heard. Ramin Djawadi does an absolutely incredible job of capturing each scene in the music, capturing each house, each emotion, and each area of suspense with so much elegance and grace. Ramin Djawadi has done a job unlike any other and this is a score that I cannot get tired of. There is so much dynamism and stasis at the same time, a push and pull that keeps you coming back again. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
