Blackbear & Tarro and The 1975

Today I have some music for you which happens to be a pretty wicked collaboration. This song is the production child of BlackBear and Tarro, and it is one that is pretty darn spectacular. Now BlackBear is a triple threat in the music industry world. He is a singer, songwriter, and producer, meaning he doesn't really need anyone to finish his songs. I mean he has co written some pretty huge songs, produced for artists like G-Eazy, while also being a collaborator with other artists. So in a nutshell, BlackBear is one of most capable artists we have never heard of. But moving onto the song I have for you today! When the song first starts playing, you can't help but feel how incredibly chilled out this song. I mean it is the kind of song that feels so smooth, like a good scotch, and is a lounge ready kind of song. This song is like a rainy night with a bright moon still shining through, something that is comfortably alluring. There is a very bluesy style with which the song is produced, and that adds to that really nice vibe and slightly seductive sound. This is definitely not a song to get down to, rather, it is something that you can listen to when hanging out or doing some work or just want to relax. However this song definitely has a seductive element to it, something that is not necessarily "sexy" but definitely a sensual sound. BlackBear does such an incredible job of making us feel one thing while making us think another. It is a really different kind of dynamic and I thoroughly enjoy that. But along with all of this, we get this really nice punctuated drum and bass combination. There is  a lot of synth work with this song, but it is tastefully done. We don't get that robotic sound that sometimes comes with music like this. There is a really nice smoothness to the way the song is put together and the transitions are flawless. The percussion additions to the song provide a lot of movement for the synths, and that is pretty crucial to give this song that silky and sleek kind of song. Blackbear has a softer voice, one that blends perfectly with the more laid back instrumentals. Not many people know of Blackbear, but he has to be one of my favorite artists! Today's instrumental song is by one of my favorite bands- The 1975. In all honesty, BlackBear really reminded me of this band. Both of them have those band elements that are common in rock groups, but the way they utilize those instruments creates a song that is so unlike most rock bands. There are parts of synth pop, some ambient background music thrown in there, and these mellow and smooth vocals. What more could you ask for from a group like this? I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
