The Backstreet Boys and Pearl Harbor

Today I have some throwback music for you, music from a boy band that we all loved and screamed after. The Backstreet Boys have made quite a comeback, going on tour and even releasing a new album. Now this is definitely not something that a lot of boy bands do, especially after being on hiatus for as long as they were. However, I love the fact that they are back and slaying the stage. In fact, they performed last night at the Miss USA pageant and absolutely killed it, performing their most famous song and the one that melted the hearts of millions. Now I had to post a song about them because it has been so long since we have seen them! I mean yes, now they are touring and things but their 6 year hiatus was just too long! And so since they are back and just performed on live television, I thought why not? So this song is one that was also kind of popular, but didn't necessarily take the cake in terms of most known songs. But this song is one that I loved to sing to because of how vocally great it is. There is a huge spectrum of pitch and a huge range of notes, and that makes this song so nice to listen to. Now in terms of vulnerability, this song is probably one of the most vulnerable I have heard from the Backstreet Boys. I have to say, most of the time boy bands are not the more emotional type, and even their emotional and saddening songs are not entirely along the lines of other artists I have heard. But I do have to say that this song is different. It isn't a slow acoustic ballad or anything like that, but the musicality of this song works in a way that makes this song something pop oriented but still a song that still conveys feeling. This song is all about losing someone, and we get to actually feel that loss in the song. This song has moments of acoustic sounds, especially with the guitar work we hear in the background. The orchestra in the background and the synth melodies also give this song that emotional sound. But the way the Backstreet Boys sing this song gives it power. The way they sing with so much strength and pour emotion into the song turns it into something that is powerful and moving. That is a balance which is hard to achieve and was so wonderfully done. This song definitely has more of the softer sides of grief, but there are those moments when the song gets a little grittier, the melody gets a little darker, and the singing gets a little harsher. This was almost beautiful to me because grief is full of those hard moments, full of the moments that make you angry and upset. This song is one of my favorites by the boy band, and I think for a good reason. It is definitely nice to throwback to the 90s, to the boy band that pretty much stole my heart away and gave it to the world of music. Plus, they are quite the heartthrobs as well! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Pearl Harbor. This movie was absolutely fantastic and was not your run of the mill war film. I loved the way it was done, and the story itself is one that I really enjoyed. This is a love story woven in tragedy, and while that is so sad, there is something heartbreakingly beautiful about it. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
