Bombs & Bottles and The Great Gatsby

Today I have music for you by an artist who goes by the stage name Bombs and Bottles. I really love his style and vocals and just the overall sound. Dear lord this man has a great voice! I absolutely love his voice. There is such a smooth tone to his voice and there is an incredible R&B feel to his voice. If any of you have heard music from The Weekend, think of those vocals and you will get a picture of what Bombs and Bottles sounds like. His vocals are absolutely and completely gorgeous and I have to be honest, his voice stole me away. I feel like the easiest way to describe this song is indie R&B. It is a mix of electronic, hip hop, R&B, and even a little bit of rock, but it is so damn good. There isn't too much of one so that the song sounds horrific, but just enough of everything to make it unique. I could listen to this song all day long, it is that good. There are definite moments when you can hear the electronic nature of this song, especially in the chorus. But throughout the entire song, you are immersed in that slow R&B beat and if you let it take over, you can really get into this song. This is one of those songs that may be slow and intense, but you can get down to this song. I would love to see this in an action movie because I feel like it could fit in quite well if you get the right theme. Moving on though, there is a moment in the song when we hear a part that sounds like it could be an electric guitar solo and it is absolutely brilliant. That covers the rock aspect of this song even though it is just some wickedly awesome synth work. Bombs and Bottles composes and produces all of his songs on his own, is in charge of songwriting and singing and instruments. This music is absolutely phenomenal and he tops it off with his gliding vocals. There is a softness and almost tenderness to his voice, but there is also power and strength and he uses that contrast to make this song sound intense. To be quite frank, I find this song to sound incredibly amazing and in a way, sexy. There is something about this that captures that alluring vibe that only an R&B song can truly get. This song sounds like something that could be on the soundtrack of my life and the lives of a lot of people. When you listen to this song when it is dark out or raining, you feel the essence of this song even more and it is calming yet invigorating. Absolutely magnificent! Today's instrumental song is from the movie The Great Gatsby. It was hard to find a song that fit the first one in a way that it left you with the same feeling, but I think this does a wonderful job. Music from Requiem For A Dream came to mind at first, but I thought that might be too obvious of a choice. This song has a darkness that accompanies all that is Gatsby. The movie and the book both make it clear that there is so much darkness as well as light and this composition captures that feeling of darkness. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
