Saje and Chet Faker

Today I have some suave and funky music for you by Saje. This Parisian duo amassed their fans and millions of listens through a little website called SoundCloud. I mean Saje is an online music group that is a force to be reckoned with. Now I know a lot of you have heard of SoundCloud, but for those of you who have not, this is possibly one of the greatest music sites ever. Because it allows people to put up their original work, their versions of songs that exist, and it opens you up to so many more sounds and styles of music. I heard this song for the first time through SoundCloud actually. So that is my helpful little music tip for the day! But Saje is a wonderfully suave duo, producing music that is dance floor oriented R&B. This is honestly the most accurate description of the genre! I mean it is absolutely spot on. Why? Because this song employs the use of synthesizers and keyboards of the dance music scene, while also having the beat and vocals of an R&B singer. This song is immerse in smooth downtempo waters of synths and romantic vocals. This song is a perfect example of beautifully controlled chaos and harmony, a seemingly random synth line with the melody laying on top. There is a dysfunctional sound to the song, but also a sense of having the perfect cuts in production to make it have a flow and formula. Saje uses a variety of instruments and styles and techniques to make this song what it is. From jazz guitars to spacey synth loops to breathy vocals to haunting piano lines, this song has a somewhat random mix of sounds that come together is perfectly blended sound wave. Sabina offers us some pretty stunning vocals. They are definitely on the breathy side, but they are also pretty strong. Not a belting piece, but a firm falsetto and consistent vocals as well. This song is just so wonderfully seductive! But it also has a little bit of this funk to it. A kind of funk that you could catwalk to, a little bit of a jazzy funk, but it is still there. And I think that is so freaking cool! You add in the electric guitar work and we get a song that has seductive groove to it. Something I haven't heard in a while, but I have fallen in love! Saje really knows how to produce a killer song! Today's instrumental song is by Chet Faker. This is another artist I am madly in love with. His voice is a little raw and raspy, but I love that. He also has a somewhat breathy way of singing and honestly I find that to be super sexy and saucy. But this instrumental version of his song is just as smooth and suave as his vocals. This is actually my favorite use of the electric guitar. I do love it when rock bands are all over the guitar, but this groovier and jazzier version is so versatile and creates a better sense of being and feeling. But Chet Faker, this is a man who knows how to make music that can get to you with or without the vocals. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
