Zedd and Madeon

Today I have some super hype music for you! I just got back from one of the most epic concerts ever! You think you have seen a show? Let me tell you, Zedd could top that. I mean this was the most incredible thing I have ever seen! The thing about Zedd's performance, is that he delivers kick ass music. He plays his own stuff, but likes to remix it and change it up. But he also likes to take other songs and throw his own spin on them. Which is awesome! But then, then we get to the actual showmanship part of his performance. I mean confetti cannons, fog machines, and pyrotechnics! Out of all the things I have seen this last year, this has to be the sickest thing ever! DJ's often times have a light show to accompany their set. Now Zedd, well he likes to get a little crazier than that. Not only does he have a light show and laser lights, he has a complete set of graphics. And they are so clear, pristine, and HD quality. When the images move, it feels like you are driving on the track, or taking off in the spaceship he has on the screens. I just can't believe what I have seen! If you ever get the opportunity to see him play, I highly recommend you go see him. Even if you don't really like Zedd or don't really listen to him, he is one of the best entertainers I have ever seen. And I think it would be completely worth it, and some more. Today's instrumental song is by Zedd's support act. Madeon is also a phenomenally talented DJ. What is interesting is that he and Zedd have pretty different styles, but somehow they meld together really well. But Madeon was just so on point with his music! He played so much of his music, but mixed it up with so many other songs and it is so amazing. Madeon is also another wonderful performer. His graphics were more low key, but the light show that accompanied it was so dope. I have to say, this is one of the greatest concert experiences I have ever had! Today's song is a really cool one out of South Africa by the band Kongos. There are so many awesome things happening in this song. For example the first sounds you hear is this really sick accordion work, and yes, these guys made the accordion look even cooler than any other musician out there has. I love the way they use the accordion and the tone of it. And then you hit the chorus which has these really strong vocals and you get the feel from the multiple voices with these sweet guitar licks and such a loud presence with the electric guitar. This song just kicks some major ass! Today's song is by the Beastie Boys, and is one of my favorite songs by them. Ima Robot and Tame Impala

Today I have a song for you by the band known as Ima Robot. Many of you will recognize this song because it is used in the show Suits. Disclaimer, Suits is a wonderfully fantastic show and I highly recommend you go watch it. Anyway, this song has a really cool and suave feel to it. It has that artsy urban grunge to it which I really like. It is a different way of performing rock music and takes you back to the 90's style of music. This song has a really cool charm to it because a lot of the song falls on the support of the bass guitar over the drums. The bass guitar serves as a secondary percussion to the rest of the instrumentals. It is actually kind of awesome how simple the instruments are in this song because when you bring the together you hear a really sick song. The main instruments are of course the bass guitar, tambourine, drums, and keyboard. Nothing else makes an appearance and I like it that way. The music in this song is so structured but so laid back at the same time.

Zayn Malik and Interstellar

Today I wanted to give a shout out to an artist who is both very famous and very underground. Most people know him as Zayn Malik, that guy who was in One Direction but left the band. So a little background, Zayn Malik was one of the five members of the famous boy band, One Direction. His departure from the band was all over the news last year, and I wont' lie, I felt bad for him. Not because he left the band, but because of what that meant for him in the public eye. It marked him as a huge target for papparzi and press, and I just feel so bad for him because he had to live in that public eye for so long. Which is one of the reasons why he wanted to leave. To live his life more quietly. So that of course, is a consequence of his level of fame. But on the other hand, we have his more quiet and surprising side.
