Charice and The Police

Today I have some slower music for you again. I haven't really been feeling the more hyped up music lately, given the circumstances. But just because a song is slower and more melancholy doesn't mean it is a bad song. In fact, a lot of the slower and more emotive songs are the ones we fall in love with the most. This song is by Charice, a highly underrated vocalist. She comes from The Philippines and was discovered by Oprah. She has a voice that can completely blow you away. She has a voice that is so incredibly powerful, even when she is singing softly. Her voice is full of so much soul and you can feel that she sings with her entire being. For someone so young, her voice speaks volumes and boasts so much maturity. Her vocal control is absolutely phenomenal, soaring up to hit the high notes and dropping to get the lower ones. I am putting her live performance up today because listening to her live is so much more rewarding than listening to the recorded versions. Charice is a vocal prodigy, someone who can effortlessly deliver beautiful and stunning performances. While she does not have the popularity that she deserves, I still think she is amongst the greatest female vocalists I have ever heard the pleasure of hearing. From singers like Whiteney Houston to Celine Dion to Jennifer Hudson, Charice belongs with them. Charice has the pleasure of being one of the youngest people to work with David Foster. Now David Foster is one of the most incredibly talented and influential members of the entire music industry. International and domestic. And together, they create such magic. Every performance has this angelic nature to it. And I highly recommend you listen to her other songs because they are completely enchanting. Today's instrumental song is one that is pretty recognizable, but is also one that I never get tired of. This song is by The Police and is probably their most popular and famous song. But for good reason. This anthem is one that you gladly want stuck in your head because it has this calming feel to it. Which makes having the instrumental version not a bad thing because that is the best part of the song. I don't really care for the  lyrics of this song too much, but man that guitar and bass work. To die for. It is something that is purposeful poignant and cathartic. Which is harder to get from a rock band, but The Police totally nailed it. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
