Kygo & Dillon Francis and Chromeo
Today I am back! I recently moved into a new place, only to find that I had no internet access. So I sincerely apologize for the missing posts. But today I wanted to get the ball rolling with some new music out of the EDM world. This song is a very interesting collaboration done by Kygo and Dillon Francis. Now what is very cool about this song, is that Kygo and Dillon Francis bring two completely different sounds to the table. When you look at both artists respectively, they each have styles that are pretty unlike the other. Kygo hails from the land of tropical house, a genre that I believe he created. Kygo has that very distinct sound, a signature synthesizer sound, that distinguishes him from every other artist out there. And then we have Dillon Francis. This is a man who likes to the put the crazy in his music. Dillon Francis tends to have a little bit more range, but is most well known for his work with moombahton music. He also has a knack for making high energy songs that are very catchy. Now when you put two artists like this together, you don't always get the best results. It is safe to say that on the contrary, Kygo and Dillon Francis did a wonderful job of making this a song that we can all thoroughly enjoy. They also featured the soft vocals of James Hersey. This song sports a more chill and laid back feel, taking on the general atmosphere of a Kygo song. And from Dillon Francis, we get the funkier kinds of beats and that general bounce to the song. I won't lie, this is more a song for those craving a tropical house fix, but I think Dillon Francis was a nice addition to the song! The both of them together make for a good duo. And working with Dillon Francis on this song kind of made Kygo ditch the synths that he has been using a lot of lately. We get more of his original and summery kinds of sounds. Again, mixing in the vocals of James Hersey gives the song a little bit more of a romantic feel, making the song a little bit more alluring and irresistible. We get a mix of emotive and emphatic sounds from the two DJ's and I find it to be quite unique. Today's instrumental song is by Chromeo. This is a duo that has some splashes of tropical sounds in their music, but maintain that bright summery feel that we love from Kygo. This song is one of the more popular ones, but I never get tired of it. We get a great vibrant sound, to contrast the more mellow breeze we get with the first. This is a bumping song for sure! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
