Skrillex and Feed Me

So today I have some music for you as per suggestion of one of my very close friends. This song comes from Skrillex's first studio album. Now what I like about this song is that it features other artists, meaning, it features a lot of different styles. From this first album, we really hear the heavy dubstep that got Skrillex famous. I'd like to think he is at the forefront of making dubstep more mainstream. He is one of the biggest figureheads in dubstep music and I really appreciate the fact that he takes his style and establishes his music as an extension of his style instead of conforming to what the masses really want. This song is clear evidence of that. Moombahton is not a very popular genre, and to mix that with dubstep? Unheard of! But leave it to Skrillex to make this bomb song and combine two completely different sounds into something wicked. The drop in this song is pretty dirty and I love that it isn't too heavy so that all the other sounds get lost in the bass drop. That happens a lot in electronic music, but I also know that Skrillex knows exactly what he is doing. This song features artists like Kill The Noise, and you can definitely hear their influence in this song. This is a collaboration, not a song that is Skrillex and features other artists. You can tell that this is a joint effort. I mean the whole songs is based on a moomba sound, something Skrillex is definitely not known for. However, things like the drop and the buildup? Definitely Skrillex. I really love the sound we get after the main drop happens. It has a more melodic sound which sounds a little weird verbally but makes total sense when you listen to the song. The programmed line that sits on top of the bass has something less heavy and is more of something that fills the song with sound. I was really impressed with this song the first time I heard it and I couldn't stop listening to it! Today's instrumental song is by Feed Me. I haven't posted any of his music in a long time, and I thought it would be an interesting compliment to the first song. This has a very intense dubstep sound, but is very different from the dubstep we hear in the first song. This is a tightly packed song, one that is pretty full of so many different things. There is a lot going on in this song, but it is done in a way that doesn't get too full that you lose focus. There is a good concentration of sound to push you,but keep you enticed. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
