Jay Park and Maroon 5

Today I have music for you by one of my favorite Korean artists. Jay Park is quite the performer and an incredible singer. What I love about him is the fact that he raps and sings in both Korean and English and nails both styles of performing. Now I won't lie to you, this song is probably my favorite song by him ever. Yes, it is a more romantic and less intense song, but Jay Park is not limited to songs like this. Actually, this song is one of the more anomalous songs in the fact that it is sweet and smooth and comforting. Normally, Jay Park has a more intense and energetic and dance-vibe sound, but this one has this cozy and sweet and lively. This song is one of those cute love songs that isn't slow and romantic, rather it is more like a springtime energetic vibe. This is a song that has a nice head-bobbing vibe that also has this thumping beat that makes you want to sway. There are also these really nice subtle piano keys that make you want to just move to the music. I also love the background brass instrument. They add this depth and lovely twist to the song in a way that people would not really think of associating with a song like this. The trumpets take on this slightly jazzy but harmonizing line and having it slightly fuzzed out makes it the perfect support. What makes this song so good to listen to is the fact that it goes back to a more old school style of R&B and that coupled with the melody of the song makes it one that is fun and lighthearted. This is probably one of the cutest urban songs I have heard. You could even be like me, someone who doesn't understand Korean, and blush and smile uncontrollably at how cute this song is. I love the way Jay Park uses his falsetto in this song. It makes the song even more insistent in his love for this girl. Jay Park doesn't really follow the common stereotype of Korean music. He doesn't have that super upbeat and pop and electronic dance sound that a lot of Korean pop music has. Jay Park has really established himself as an artist who falls back on the 90's and early 2000's sound. He goes back to the roots of the decade to that more suave and cutesy era of music. I think as a Korean artist, this is a great change from what we normally hear from Kpop artists. This complete change is absolutely wonderful because its sets him apart as an artist not only in the Kpop world, but in the Western world of music as well. It seems that the early 2000's style of music has been lost for a while and the fact that Jay Park has created an image of himself  molded after that style is really phenomenal. It is a sigh of relief for the music world. This is a song that is catchy and fun, bubbly and lighthearted. Jay Park has created a song that is simply irresistible. Today's instrumental song is by Maroon 5. Now this "instrumental" version actually is the real song and music video, but honestly, I think that is perfect for the first song. These two songs have music videos that reflect that cutesy feeling that we all feel, and I am especially in love with the Maroon 5 video because it is absolutely adorable! Both of these share that cutesy and summery sound that make you want to say "awwww" for days. Both of these have that old school style and they are those songs that make you instantly feel so good. With this song, Maroon 5 finally embraces that soulful and tuneful sound that they were first defined by. They finally go back to the older sound that we all love and wish they would bring back. This is a ridiculously catchy song and a radio friendly pop song that is completely compelling. This is like the old Maroon 5 days when you would find yourself singing the song for hours after listening to it. These two songs are the ones that make the day shine a little brighter and make you feel a little happier. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
