The Script and The Fountain

Today I have music for you by one of my favorite bands of all time, The Script. This song is off their first album ever. I have been listening to a lot of my older music and songs that I found years ago, and this one came up. I have not been able to listen to anything else but this song. My favorite thing about The Script is that every song has so much meaning and depth to it, plus, the romantic songs they write are absolutely heartbreaking. This is one of those breathtakingly beautiful songs, the one that makes you really stop thinking and start feeling. This song has such a melancholy tone to it, but the words are absolutely mesmerizing and it is something that resonates with me. The Script knows how to produce a song that makes every feeling you have ever had bubble to the surface. Some songs bring the anger out, they bring the sadness out, the happiness in life, and the pain that comes with it. Every song is something that evokes something different for me. And when they sing live, oh my goodness. The Script actually sounds exactly the same when singing live and I love how all three of the members sing. But when singing live, you can see and hear the emotions that Danny O'Donoghue feels when he sings. He also sounds better live than he does in recordings, especially since now he stopped smoking. Not only is their music powerful, but their lyrics are simply brilliant. This song takes on the more mellow side of The Script in terms of musicality. There is the use of the guitar as the main instrument. Every other addition is so faded that you barely hear it. This song is mainly about Danny O'Donoghue and the guitar. This song is about making music to tell a story. It tells something in the truest simplicity. The guitar work is really nice because parts of it have this slow and romantic tango sound to it, but The Script can pull it off in a way that it fits the sound of the song.  But what is so perfect is that while the music remains very simple, the lyrics have so many complexities in it. Like every other song by The Script, there are so many euphemism, comparisons, similes, etc. They don't make it easy for us to understand the song in its truest form. But when you really listen to the song and take time to understand the lyrics, the whole song opens in front of you. This song is so beautiful because it explores the vulnerabilities of love and is even better because it is a man opening up to the world and bearing his emotions for all to see. This song is just so romantic and moving and full of passion and love. This is why The Script makes music and this is why I will always love them. Today's instrumental song is from the movie The Fountain. I sadly have not seen this movie yet, but I hear it is absolutely incredible. Clint Mansell is a brilliant composer and his music is worthy of rivaling the music of composers like Hans Zimmer. This song begins with that similar simplicity of music and sound with a beautiful piano solo. Then enters the string instruments, but the song still retains its integrity. This piece is simply gorgeous. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
