Cro and Bruno Mars

Today I have music for you by an extremely talented German rapper who goes by the name Cro. I was instantly hooked to this from the beginning. I think what entranced me the most was the idea of someone rapping to a groovy tune like this. In the majority of American rap, music like this does not accompany rap music and honestly, it sucks sometimes. This song is so fresh and unique and so out there that you can't help but enjoy it! I understand nothing in this song, but there is a fluidity to the rap that makes me kind of understand the idea of being suave and charming. This song has such a pumped up energy to it and the unique style that the instrumentals have makes this song wonderfully delightful. It is almost as if this is a mix of pop and rap, but instead of leaning towards one or the other, falls smack dab in the middle. I honestly cannot get enough of this song! Everything about it is so perfect, even down to the panda mask. There is a funky flair that Cro has that really makes this work. The way he puts the words to the beat makes it have that same groovy feel as the actual music which takes a lot of skill when it comes to production. A lot of times with a style like this, even singing lyrics can be hard, but to rap it? That takes some serious skill and creativity. This song is so great and words cannot describe how much fun it is to jam to this song. I listened to this song incessantly all day today and I am still not tired of it. I would want to see this song performed live even though I don't speak a word of German because there is that much energy in this song! The crowd and the performance would be banging and crazy fun. During the hook of this song there are moments when the words almost bounce when he says them and that just adds this extra flair and liveliness to the song. It really makes it come alive and I can tell you for certain, this song is very much alive. I think a good comparison to really fathom the style and smooth-tongued nature of this song and of Cro is to think of him as the German version of Rizzle Kicks or rather, Rizzle Kicks is the English version of Cro since he came first. They both have that nonchalance to their acts and their music. The way they make everything seem so simple when they perform (which is not fair) even though the way they match the words to the hills and valleys of the music so to speak. The background music in this song is such that it has this naughty charm to it. There are elements of a more traditional pop to it, but the sax use definitely adds a little extra to it. The bass guitar is also used brilliantly so that it shines through the song subtly. Without it, there would be a huge piece missing. This is a song that I am guilty of dancing to because it is just that bumping! This is probably the best song I have heard all summer! Today's instrumental song is a version of one of my favorite Bruno Mars songs. This song uses elements of that traditional pop but also throws in that modern style. The swing use in this song is absolutely brilliant and entices you to the dance floor in a great way. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
