Kiesza and Tom Middleton

Today I have music for you by an artist known as Kiesza. This girl has some serious style to her music. I mean she really knows how to take an old school sound and beat and make it modernized in a way so that it still has the original oldies sound. It is absolutely brilliant! From the instrumental to the vocals, everything fits in so well with being an old school style of sound. I mean talk about going back to 90's dance music! This is so refreshing to hear because it is so different from the rest of the dance music out there today. I really love the way Kiesza uses her voice to have that soulful energy you would hear from a funk song. I think that adds that feeling of being a good dance beat and groove song. This song has a very infectious beat to it that makes you want to get up and dance a little bit and move around some. It is absolutely fun and exciting! This song does have bass line that runs deep and thrums heavily and is present throughout the whole song. I kind of like how this song builds up and tapers off and then builds up again and tapers off. There never really is a "drop" to the song. The build up that occurs during the chorus is not really a buildup because the drop doesn't happen. The transition to singing is so smooth from that build up and keeps the song from straying to a genre like EDM or trance. The vocals are also too high pitched for most electronic songs of today. But that high pitch keeps up energy and excitement which lets the song have a more laid back instrumental sound and funk sound. If you listen to songs from the early 90', a lot of them have that soulful funk and this song captures that old style of music. The way the song gets into that groovy feel is pretty cool! The song starts out with a piano and Kiesza singing with it but then segues into a Daft Punk style tambourine and snap. Then the drums and synthesizers are added on top and all the layers are come together to make the finished song. This song could definitely be a dance anthem and some have even called a classy dance anthem which I completely agree with. This song is just so much fun and hopefully it will make you want to dance as well! Today's instrumental song is by an awesome artist know as Tom Middleton. This song is really cool because it serves as an electronic spin on an almost jazzy framework. There is a calm chill to this song but it is definitely a chill song that you can jam to anywhere and anytime. This song has a very laid back sound but it also in a way that the song is entrancing and intriguing. This is an artist I would definitely keep a tab on because this is a pretty sweet sound.
