Jay Sean and Chameli

Today I have a very interesting song for you by Jay Sean. The reason this is very intriguing is because this song has the feel of a pop song and a Bollywood song mixed. This is very different compared with pretty much every other song out there. The verses are all done in that sexy smooth way Jay Sean has, but the chorus is straight out of a Bollywood movie. This song was made independent of a Bollywood film but was used in one anyway. I won't lie, I think Jay Sean sounds phenomenal in this song. It is a complete turn around from the style of music that we all know Jay Sean for. I love everything about this song. Of course Jay Sean dazzles us with his beautiful voice. I for one am a huge fan of Jay Sean's voice. It is suave and charming and sexy all at once while also being a voice that is very soothing to the ears. His voice is one that I am absolutely in love with. Now if you listen to every other Bollywood song, you can tell that the way his voice sounds is very different compared to the vocals by all of the other talented artists known to Bollywood. But somehow, Jay Sean is able to make this song work and he is able to make it a good song to listen to in and out of the Bollywood movie. The composition of this song was done and produced very well. There is a great balance between Hindi sounds and Western sounds. Most of the instrumental background is hardcore Indian and the chorus is also done in Hindi. But most of the lyrics and singing is done in English. I really like this style and it is very original in comparison to the plethora of Indian songs done with Western music and half of the song being done in English. The tabla and dholak create a very energetic drum line and the sitar-like sound in the background that repeats itself gives it that very good bhangra dance feel. This song is general is a really good dance song. It isn't too pumped up to the point where you just end up jumping around a lot, but it isn't too slow to the point where it turns into a romantic love song. I think this song is really catchy and quite well done. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Chameli. This movie is actually pretty dark and gives an inside look into some of the underground things that happen there. However, I really love this song! This song is similar to the first in that it has that perfect beat to where it doesn't become to energetic nor does it become lethargic. If you have a chance, I recommend listening to this song with the vocals in it as well. Sunidhi Chauhan is the singer and she is fabulous! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
