Foxes and How To Train Your Dragon

Today I have music by the artist known as Foxes. This song has such a vivacious energy and feeling to it with the upbeat music work and rapid beat. This song has this carefree energy to it that makes you want to let it go, as she says. This is the re-released version of the song and it has been spruced up and has gone through a make over. While this is very different from the original version, both of them have this free wildness and strength to them which really makes this song what it is. Foxes really works her voice to take on a slightly vulnerable but strong sound during the verses and then when the chorus hits, she completely opens up and strips her voice down to raw strength and power. I really like the way this re hash was done because it captures the nature that comes with youth and the need and desire to run around at night and the feeling that we rule the world. This song captures the idea that the world is ours for the taking and nothing can stop us from being who we are and who we want to be. This song is almost anthemic and has good string work and bright synth sounds to make this song really shine and pull at the untamed nature we can all have at some point. I do really enjoy the fact that this song keeps the piano work going even with all the other electronic and drum work that is happening around it. Starting with the piano actually allows this song to build up in energy and ferocity and it sounds really good with Foxes vocals. Speaking of which, she picked the perfect key and background instruments to support her voice. She does have a very strong and powerful voice, however, it does have a sweeter sound to it. With the way her vocals and the instruments are paired, she is able to make her voice sound less quiet and unleashes the vocal chords to their full capacity. This song is one that speaks profoundly to the younger generation. When you hear this song you will understand what I mean because it has everything that we are chastised for- wildness, rule breaking, and creating havoc and mischief. I truly enjoy this song and the idea that the lyrics convey to us. Today's instrumental song is from the movie How To Train Your Dragon. No lie, this is one of my absolute favorite scores I have ever heard. I may have posted this song in the past but I though this song was just so perfect for the first one. This song truly makes you feel free and that you can fly higher than everyone. The instrumentation of this song is so incredible and the way they capture the sound of the Nordic north is just phenomenal. I might get a lot of grief for this, but I thought this movie was way better than Frozen. This soundtrack is just so damn magnificent. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
