Da' Zoo and Wisin Y Yandel

Today I have music for you from Puerto Rico by a group know as Da'Zoo. These artists, they know how to turn up the party vibes. This song has everything from a sick beat to hot back and forth between the guy and girl. The lyrics to the song are a little dirty, no doubt about it. But what's wrong with a little bit to spice things up a bit? And seeing as most people don't even understand what the lyrics mean, it's all good! But this song has a really wicked dance beat to it that is so different than your typical Latin style music. For one, this song relies heavily on the use of electronics and synth to make the awesome sounds. This group makes great use of the electric bass and there is this organic fluidity to the way the song sounds. There is definitely repetition but it doesn't feel like it because there is something slightly different in every verse. The lyrics stay the same but the way they are presented is different. For example, the last verse is the only one that has both the male and female vocals going back and forth at each other. The other verses are female only or male only and only the chorus combines the two. I remember hearing this for the first time a few years ago and how much it made me want to dance. It still does. This song has infectious energy and even though a lot of pepole don't understand the words, you can still feel the sensuality and slightly sexy nature to this song. When you hear it, you want to dance in a more provocative way than you would with other songs. As an artist, that takes skill, to overcome a language barrier and still be able to convey that feeling of youth and attraction and lust. For me, it was a little bit easier to get the song since I understand what is happening in this song, but I still feel the need to dance a little bit more scandalous than normal when I hear this song. It is just so much damn fun to listen to and jam out to and it is really cool how you get a little bit of Puerto Rican slang. Another thing that I really love about this song is that I can't even classify it to a specific genre. There are so many things happening from other genres-pop, reggae, electronic, house, etc. There is a little bit of everything, making it an awesome worldbeat style song. I have listened to this song about 5 times within the past thirty minutes...it is that much fun and that energetic! Today's instrumental song is by another set of artists whom I love from the Latin world. Wisin y Yandel really know how to create a bumping and vivacious song. This song in particular has a really great melody and bass line and they compliment each other so well. Even the keyboard sounds phenomenal in this song! These two artists are ones that I can't be disappointed with because their music is so great to listen to and dance to and just be wild. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
