Blind Scuba Divers and Benny Benassi

Today I have music for you by a group known as Blind Scuba Divers. What is pretty cool about this group is that while they are rap oriented, there is a level of electronic work in this song that is pretty sick. When you look at this group, it is definitely not what you expect, but that defiance of stereotype makes this group even better. This trio works in the electronic feel really well by using it as a chorus and hook. From the get go, the song gets you enamored with a strong opening and the leads to a softer rap. This rap is very different from a lot of other rappers out there because there is a softness to the voices that you may not expect from rappers. It is almost a soothing voice and then you really listen to the lyrics and it is completely different. A great juxtaposition of these soft voices and rap lyrics is really awesome I think. Now this song comes from the movie 22 Jump Street. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I feel like this song is a perfect choice for the movie that is Jump Street. If this sequel is anything like the story of the first one, the juxtaposition of this song matches very well with the juxtaposition present in the movie plot line itself. This song is really catchy and I couldn't get myself to stop jamming along with a little bit of head banging and footwork happening. The electronic music in the background is just enough to push the song and give it the beat but is not too much as to overtake the main focus of the song which is the rapping. All in all, I think this is a nicely put together song and a great one to sit and just listen to. Today's instrumental song is from an extremely talented artist-Benny Benassi. This is one of my all time favorite songs by him because it has such a weird energy to it. I always dance and sing to this song because it just has that vibe. You have to just get up and dance like no one is watching. There is really good synth work and glissando in this song with the electronic sounds. The background beat has this footstep sound which is pretty cool too because it makes it a little more active sounding. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
