Hey guys! I am sorry about last night's post not happening.  But I am back today and hopefully, will finally get back to some consistency. Today I have some music for you by Korean artist Jay Park. Now I know that a lot of people automatically think of K-pop when the phrase Korean Music is heard. I used to be one of those people! But there is so much more to Korean music than what most people believe. For example, today's song by Jay Park has nothing that sounds like the typical K-pop song. Jay Park has a very westernized take on music, but blends in the Korean lyrics very well. In every song that Jay Park has done, he has seamlessly incorporated the English lyrics and the Korean lyrics together in a way that is a bit like embedded quotes. Sometimes he switches languages between the verses, but during the chorus he uses each language to finish the lines. If it starts out in English it ends in Korean and vice versa. Today I have some music for you by a group known as Justice Crew. Believe it or not, this is a group that started out as a dance crew and then evolved into being a group that also puts out music. Now, for a group that has made the shift from dancing to singing, they did a really good job with this song. What I love is that there is a great ability to dance to this song. I mean the energy is there, the consistent beat, and the dynamism is there, making this an awesome song to turn into a choreographed dance. Of course, that comes from the influence of Justice Crew being first and foremost, a dance group. And let me tell you, this is a group of severely talented men, showing off moves that I have never seen before, by any other crew. Thankfully, we get to see those dope moves in the music video, which is the main reason why I am posting that today instead of just a lyrical video or any other kind. After a short hiatus, I am back at it again with some great new music for you all! Coming back from vacation, I heard a lot of music, discovered a lot of music, and just jammed out a lot. So today I though I would get the ball rolling with some music by the artist known as NF. This is a guy who is a crazy sick rapper. I mean absolutely incredible. The style of rap in this song is one of my favorites. It is this syncopated but fast style of rapping, one that allows rappers to spit rhymes out and get in as much lyrical content as possible. Now I really love this style for two reasons. One, being able to hear the words and verses that the rapper writes is amazing. More often than not, songs like this have some sort of powerful meaning, and this song is definitely one of those. This is a song that talks about the music industry in general, about how music has changed and become a source of profit instead of art. Today I have an absolutely a beautiful song for you, coming from my mother country, India. This has to be one of the most moving and comforting songs I have heard in such a long time. A little preface on this song, but the meaning of it lies in the metaphor of a little bird. This is something that a lot of Indian songs do, compare life to a series of metaphors and scenes of nature. But the little bird in this song actually refers to the younger sisters and the young daughters of the world. This is a song about how wonderfully strong they are, despite all the darkness surrounding us. But it is also a reminder to appreciate and love the beauty of the world and themselves, and enjoy the wonder that is being a girl. I have to say, this song almost made me cry because of how bright and calm this song is. Today I have some music for you by the singer-songwriter known as Kevin Garret. This is the first song I heard by him, and I have to say, it left me in this beautiful state of melancholy and fragility. This is the kind of song that leaves you hoping that nothing shatters the silence that follows the end of the song because of how much of a soul hitting song it is. This is a gorgeously pained single, one that is full of heartbreak and loss. This is a song that poignantly walks through a relationship that is slowly disintegrating, scattering into the winds. This song is one that seems to reflect on that one moment in every relationship, the moment so vulnerable and fragile that one touch could splinter and shiver into millions of pieces. This song explores the thoughts and feelings that seem to rush through your body as this moment overwhelms you, telling us that we either know what we want or we don't. Today I have music for you by a band that goes by the name Clubfeet. This song has a really cool sound to it. When you feel like listening to indie style electronic music, this group is one that can satiate your desire. This group has such a smooth sound to it but it falls on that psychedelic side of music as well. This song is one that is hard for me to describe because it sounds very familiar but also sounds very original from what I have heard before. I feel like this is something that could be featured on an episode of Teen Wolf. It has that independent and unique vibe and sound that no one else can copy. I am a huge fan of the way the vocals are presented because it is done so with layers. It is never just one voice and one sound you hear from the vocals, but many harmonies and different ways of singing the same lines.
