Justice Crew and Sean Paul
Today I have some music for you by a group known as Justice Crew. Believe it or not, this is a group that started out as a dance crew and then evolved into being a group that also puts out music. Now, for a group that has made the shift from dancing to singing, they did a really good job with this song. What I love is that there is a great ability to dance to this song. I mean the energy is there, the consistent beat, and the dynamism is there, making this an awesome song to turn into a choreographed dance. Of course, that comes from the influence of Justice Crew being first and foremost, a dance group. And let me tell you, this is a group of severely talented men, showing off moves that I have never seen before, by any other crew. Thankfully, we get to see those dope moves in the music video, which is the main reason why I am posting that today instead of just a lyrical video or any other kind. This song is just such a dance anthem, and was one of the my party songs of the year when I first heard it. There is such a solid bass, both with the instrumentation and the way the crew sings the words "boom boom." There is also this slightly islander sound to the music, something that uses a bit more tropical percussion work than normal, but it works so beautifully with the song. It gives the song a little bit of an untamed sound to it, something a little wild and rebellious. This is a song that has absolutely killer beats and is very easy to sing along to. I won't lie, this is not the most lyrically challenging or meaningful song out there, but that isn't the purpose of this song. Justice Crew created this to be a song that people would get on the dance floor to. This is a song to play at parties, have dance battles to, and just go wild with. I have to say, mission was most definitely accomplished. Now this is a very big group, and I cannot be sure who sings which parts of the song. But I kind of like how the second verse features one of the members with a deeper singing voice. It contrasts so well with the normal vocals the song uses, and still somehow adds this awesome intensity to it, making me feel like I own the dance floor. So all in all, I wouldn't say that Justice Crew is a group that is here to make a global impact on the music scene. I will say, that their music is not necessarily half bad, and when you throw in their other worldly dancing skills, well you have yourself quite the sweet combination. Today's instrumental song is by Sean Paul. I feel like he also has that tropical/reggaeton sound to it, and that is something we all love and can listen out for. This song is probably his most famous, and it is also one of my all time favorites. Called me old fashioned or behind, I don't really care. But this song will forever be an awesome and fun song to listen to. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
