So today I have some music for you by the always entertaining, Morgan Page. This is actually a remix of a sound by The Outfield, and it kicks some serious butt! I love this song so much because the vocals are great and there is a very dynamic hook in this song. I found myself dancing to this song and doing some head banging, so hopefully you will too! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Now You See Me. I have to say, pretty great plot twist in this movie, and you might recognize the similarities to The Count of Monte Cristo in it. Today I have some music for you by an artist that I recently started listening to, courtesy of a friend's suggestion. Lil Dicky is possibly the funniest musician I have ever come across. I mean every one of his rhymes are full of so much social commentary, but they way he brings his point across is just so hilarious. Now I am not going to lie, a lot of people don't take him seriously. I didn't take him seriously at first either! But then I heard some of his songs and I rescinded all previous thoughts on his music. Lil Dicky is one of the most real artists I have heard. The thing about him being a lower key kind of artist is that he can talk about a wider variety of topics without getting a lot of heat over it. And rap he does, about all kinds of things. From relationships to creating satire rap, Lil Dicky takes his humor to the words to make songs that are subtly powerful. Today I have a really awesome remix of a song that includes the wonderful vocals of Christina Aguilera. The original song is by a rapper that had a huge influence on hip hop and rap in general. T.I. is the mastermind behind the original song, but Skrux is the genius behind the remix. What I like about this song and remix in general, is that we get a really soft side of Christina Aguilera. Normally when she outs out music, it is a super powerful and intense kind of vocalization. She belts out those high notes and throws in a grittier and more wild sound. But with this song, we get a much calmer and almost ethereal kind of sound. She turns her voice into something that is very EDM and dubstep friendly, a voice that is light and mesmerizing. Her voice is so completely captivating in this song, and that just takes you to another place. This is a dubstep remix, and does have elements of that general dubstep sound. Today I have some cool music for you. I haven't posted music like this before so I think it will be a really cool change of pace! We all know that mashups are all over places like Soundcloud and YouTube, and a lot of these mashups are often two English songs coming together. But, when you delve deeper into the world of mashups, you get some really cool mixes of music from all over the world. A combination of English and Spanish, Spanish and Hindi, French and English, etc. There are so many kinds of mashups out there and it dawned on me that it would be so perfect for me to share some of them! So today I am trying it out, seeing if I can find a style of mashup that people really like. Now for me personally, Hindi mashups of any kind are some of the sickest. Of course I am a little biased, but I genuinely think that there is so much versatility in Indian music, that it makes it a great choice for mashups. Today I have a really cool song by the band Chvrches. Hailing from Scotland, this band has such a great sound that kind of takes you to another state of mind. When I hear this song, I always imagine running around a city at night with the moon shining bright, and just running and running. This is another one of those songs that are so hard to express in words. It is hopeful but melancholic at the same time, one of those things that really describes the craziness that is the human heart. But I love the drum claps and synth work in this song as well. What Chvrches does very well is employ ethereal vocals to create an ambient kind of feel. Today I have some new music for you by Matthew Koma. Now, a lot of people recognize him and his voice from the heavy involvement he has in the EDM industry. I mean this is a man who has worked with artists from Zedd to Ryan Tedder to Shania Twain. Not only his does he span so many genres with his influence, but he is also involved in so many different parts. He has been a lead singer, a featured singer, and an incredibly accomplished songwriter. I mean there are a lot of huge hits that were written by Matthew Koma, so I fully believe in his abilities and skills. This is a new song by him, and is one where he is the lead artist. This is a pretty explosive new song. Not only is it catchy, but it has some elements that are similar to his EDM work, while also featuring some pop characteristics. This song features a smooth but slightly sassy conversation between the saxophone and the cosmic synths. Today I have some really chilled out music by A R I Z O N A. It has been a really long time since I posted anything chillstep related, and I heard this song and kind of fell in love. What I like about this song so much is how ambient it is. A lot of times you get chillstep that really takes on the idea of being a more relaxed and easy going song. But with this song, we get to hear more of the ambient and almost trance-like kind of sound that accompanies some electronic music. Everything about this song works so well and fits like clockwork. There is just enough synth, the right amount of percussion, and the perfectly low level of bass to make this a song that goes beyond the stereotypical kind of electronic song. This is also a song that doesn't follow that conventional equation for making music. It doesn't really have a build up or climax and doesn't have a lot of variability in terms of vocals.
