A R I Z O N A and Seven Lions
Today I have some really chilled out music by A R I Z O N A. It has been a really long time since I posted anything chillstep related, and I heard this song and kind of fell in love. What I like about this song so much is how ambient it is. A lot of times you get chillstep that really takes on the idea of being a more relaxed and easy going song. But with this song, we get to hear more of the ambient and almost trance-like kind of sound that accompanies some electronic music. Everything about this song works so well and fits like clockwork. There is just enough synth, the right amount of percussion, and the perfectly low level of bass to make this a song that goes beyond the stereotypical kind of electronic song. This is also a song that doesn't follow that conventional equation for making music. It doesn't really have a build up or climax and doesn't have a lot of variability in terms of vocals. This is an easy going song in all aspects. This song just has this awesome vibe to it, something that isn't necessarily happy but not melancholy either. It isn't often that you come across a song that takes you to this place of complete calm. Even though this song kind of talks about ups and downs in the lyrics, the overall musicality of this song is something that is pretty much the same. The rhythms and beats don't change, the melody is the same, and the most dynamism we get is when the vocals get a bit muffled. Other than that, this is a song that makes you want to really listen. When there is too much happening in the background, you get distracted from the sounds that really matter. This is a song that makes you want to veg out and relax. It is a totally chilled out song, and the simplicity of it as a whole makes it something that you can listen to both intently and have it playing as background noise. Today's instrumental song is by a favorite DJ of mine, Seven Lions. I find him to be a highly underrated artist, especially considering how talented he is at making ambient and "trippy" music. Everything Seven Lions has done has yet to disappoint me. From the remixes to the original compositions, each song brings something totally different and sometimes even eclectic. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
