Keeping It Fresh

Today I have a song for you by an electronic artist that I am absolutely in love with. Adrian Lux has such an incredible sound to his music. There is always a certain feeling that he evokes with the melodies and harmonies within the song. This song is particular has a darker energy to it, but it is one of those songs that makes you want to explore the darker depths. The first time I heard this song was actually on Teen Wolf. I don't quite remember when they used this song, but I can clearly imagine what kind of scene they would have used this song for. It makes me think of either a dance or when something intense is about to happen. I personally find this an awesome song to workout to, especially running. It has that deep thrum that forces you onwards. Today's instrumental song comes from the movie Oblivion. I have to say, this soundtrack truly is a masterpiece. I highly recommend that you all listen to it at some point because it will blow you away. I hope you enjoy the music ...

Today I have some new music for you by the greatest singer to ever come off the show American Idol. A lot of people didn't really take Adam Lambert seriously until he really made them stop and listen. Adam Lambert has such an incredible voice, one that is so strong and powerful and positively energizing. Adam Lambert does have a higher pitched voice in comparison to a lot of other male singers, but that just makes him fit in with all the rockers of old. The classic rockers, ones that belong to bands like Queen. Which makes sense considering he was chosen to go on tour with Queen and fill in as the lead singer. Which is such an honor and testament to the vocal ability that Adam Lambert has. One cannot simply sing one style to sing with Queen and sing their songs. There has to be grit, gentleness, passion, and fire. With this song, Adam Lambert's voice gets tackled by the electronic group Tritonal. What makes Adam Lambert's voice so perfect for any genre is the fact that he h...

Today I have some foreign music for you, straight from the world of Bollywood. This song is really cool because it features sounds from bhangra and Western styles. This song is just so much to dance to and listen to. As someone who is an avid dancer, this song will be hard to sit still to. This definitely uses fast paced bhangra beats as the basis of the song. Honestly without those beats the song would not have much life to it. But of course the Western influences are very prominent. From the beginning, all you really hear is the electronic work going in but then when it gives way to the awesome bhangra, the song gets so wicked. This song is just so much damn fun! The beat is at the right speed to where you can dance in beats of 2 or dance immediately on the beat. Once the song really gets into swing, the electronic work doesn't even sound bad! It actually really compliments the song because it provides filler music to connect the bhangra beat to the melody of the song. But this s...

Today I have music for you that is an absolutely lovely song by Alex Metric. Now I know it is weird to consider a song by a DJ lovely. I would think the same thing to be totally honest. But this song is beautiful in a special way because of the meaning of the song. Normally people don't pay attention to lyrics in EDM songs because they are too focused on the beat or bass drop. Which is fine, to each their own. But for me, I love the words in this song because of how moving they can be. This song is about a story, a story of love and then pain. Heart racing to heart breaking. And then, how to pick up and continue on even when your heart bears the weight of the world. Hence the song title. But this song is just so incredible in the message that is being shown and the visually shows the happiness one can feel even after tragedy. It isn't easy to move on after pain like this, but this song is one that can make you smile a little more, laugh a little more, and be yourself a little b...

Today I have some heavy rock music for you all. It has been an extremely long time since I have posted music like this, so it may be a nice change for you! I know it was for me, especially because this song definitely seemed to capture my mood for part of the day. This is one of the most popular songs by the band Breaking Benjamin. A lot of people have heard this song, and many fell in love with it. For me, it is easy to see why this would be so popular amongst all age groups. For one, the overall sound is one that is very full and very rock. There aren't any moments in the song where the musicality feels empty or incomplete. Everything sounds perfectly in sync, with the drums and the guitar providing an incredible base structure for the vocals. Which brings me to my next point. Benjamin Burnley has such a powerful and gritty and rough voice that I can't help but love them! And to be quite honest, it is a little bit sexy. This is a song that mixes heavy hard rock dynamics with ...

Today I have some music for you by a band that is definitely way under the radar, but is a a wild one! Foxy Shazam is just as out there as their name is. I did have the experience of seeing them perform live, and holy hell it was a ride! These guys know how to play their instruments and sing well live, but they also know how to really perform. For them, it isn't enough to be able to play their songs live. There is a certain amount of theatricality that goes along with their shows and videos. But you can even hear it in the music. Foxy Shazam does have a certain dramatic flair in their actual music, from the braying brass to the jingling bells. It all has this Broadway-esque feeling to it, but is something that is so completely captivating. This song is actually one of my favorites by them. To be totally honest, I don't remember when I first heard their music. But I am so glad I did because it is such a cool kind of sound. I love how the song opens up with the ticking clock and ...

Today I have music for you by Adventure Club. I actually love Adventure Club. They are definitely a lesser known electronic duo which is kind of saddening, but it also gives me the opportunity to spread their awesomeness to you all! The thing about Adventure Club is that every song sounds totally different. A lot of time with electronic artists, you get really good songs, but you also get songs that sound the same when you play them against each other. But with Adventure Club, you can't do that kind of comparison because each song is so uniquely different compared to the rest. I love that though! I think that variability gives the duo a chance to produce the music they want with no limitations of boundaries. They don't have a formula that they follow, and produce what feels and sounds good to them. And that is why I love pretty much every song by them. I think one of the characteristics that really stands out to me with Adventure Club is that they like to use higher pitched voc...
