Foxy Shazam and Ozzy Osbourne

Today I have some music for you by a band that is definitely way under the radar, but is a a wild one! Foxy Shazam is just as out there as their name is. I did have the experience of seeing them perform live, and holy hell it was a ride! These guys know how to play their instruments and sing well live, but they also know how to really perform. For them, it isn't enough to be able to play their songs live. There is a certain amount of theatricality that goes along with their shows and videos. But you can even hear it in the music. Foxy Shazam does have a certain dramatic flair in their actual music, from the braying brass to the jingling bells. It all has this Broadway-esque feeling to it, but is something that is so completely captivating. This song is actually one of my favorites by them. To be totally honest, I don't remember when I first heard their music. But I am so glad I did because it is such a cool kind of sound. I love how the song opens up with the ticking clock and then gets into this really upbeat guitar strum. Of course, we still have the tambourine going in the background and the nice drum beat, but the thing that really makes this song is the vocals. Eric Nally has a voice that reminds me of the rock bands of old. The bands that made rock music the coolest thing on the market, and the greatest sound that the world had ever heard. His voice would fit in so incredibly well with a band like that. Which should tell you how incredible he is as a singer and co-writer. I think the best way to describe Foxy Shazam is to call it the revival and incarnated version of bands from the 70's and 80's. Everything about the way they sound brings up thoughts of those famous songs by the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Queen. This is the kind of song that will make you feel that older kind of concert excitement, the feeling that a lot of our cult classic characters got when they went to concerts. Foxy Shazam is retro and cool and I love them so much for that individuality and originality. Today's instrumental song is from the era that started rock bands. This particular one is by Ozzy Osbourne, and is probably his most famous song ever. But for good reason. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
